Senator Joe Manchin announces that he won't vote for ‘Build Back Better' bill amid rising inflation and the national debt at $29 trillion.
“This is a ‘no’ on this legislation. I have tried everything.” — Senator Joe Manchin on Fox News Sunday.
Fox News: Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va., explains why he 'cannot vote' for the 'mammoth legislation,' noting that he's had reservations since he first heard about it.
CBO estimates that enacting this legislation would result in a net increase in the deficit totaling $367 billion over the 2022-2031 period, not counting any additional revenue that may be generated by additional funding for tax enforcement.
According to published report: "Republican leaders later requested the CBO score the permanent cost of the House version over a 10-year period, assuming Congress would reauthorize the new benefit programs established in the bill, such as universal pre-K and child care support. The CBO found that the legislation without the Democrats' expiration dates would add nearly $3 trillion to deficits over 10-years."

"Biden’s hasty, chaotic exodus from Afghanistan has left the country in upheaval; has left scores of people dead, injured, scrambling to find shelter and safety, and in states of horrific uncertainty; has left America’s allies in righteously outraged shock at the suddenness of it all and failures of this administration to inform; has left the terrorist element in Afghanistan and around the world emboldened to join forces and expand their terrorist ways; has opened doors for America’s enemies to swoop to capitalize on this White House’s weakness; and has guaranteed that the already delicate dance of foreign affairs will grow even more complex, more dangerous, more complicated — for America and American allies — for years, possibly decades, to come."

This weekend on America's Roundtable — Dr. Victor Davis Hanson and the Honorable Maurice McTigue will draw our attention to a fiscally irresponsible Congress dangerously raising the debt ceiling and what principled solutions should be applied to solve this problem. The discussion will also address critical race theory and corporate wokeism and its adverse impact on education in America, government structures including the military, the rule of law foundation, and our once strong free society.
On the foreign policy front, we will discuss the tensions escalating in the Middle East with an emboldened Iran threatening the region as seen through the Israeli-owned oil tanker attacked by Iranian drones (confirmed by the US and the UK) killing two people on the ship. Israel's Defense Minister General Gantz warns Iran with military strike.
