Today I turn Twenty!

Let me explain...

Twenty years ago, I was given a second chance—a rare gift, as only 2% of people survive a brain hemorrhage. I still remember my brother sitting by my side in the ICU, telling me a story from his time with LAFD they had an emergency at a fitness club, where a young woman my age tragically lost her life to a brain aneurysm while she was on the treadmill.

Reflecting on that day in 2005, I often ask myself:
What have I done with my second chance?

Since then, life has unfolded in ways I could never have imagined. I met and married my husband, and together we built a family, welcoming two wonderful daughters after the heartache of two miscarriages. Our journey took us across the country, through extremely challenging times that eventually gave way to incredible friendships and the opportunity to start my own business—a venture that flourished across 25 states and three different countries. It’s been heartwarming to witness the successes of my clients and the powerful connections they’ve formed has been truly inspiring.

That journey eventually led me to a new chapter as an Executive Leadership Coach, where many of my clients have reached significant milestones and earned well-deserved promotions. I’m also enjoying helping teams communicate better and reach the milestones and goals that are set for them.

Today, I am honored to be asked to be on two separate Boards, with the unique privilege of shaping the roles I fill.

As I look back over the past twenty years, I am humbled by the lives we touch and the endless possibilities that the future holds.

I’d love to hear from you to reflect on your own journey and ask:

What would you do with your second chance?

PS. One rule I try to live by:
Don’t sweat the small stuff...because it’s ALL small stuff!

Next weekend, I’m thrilled to lead a Book Club session during the Xavier Mom’s Retreat! 📚💙 I’m especially excited to share insights from The Let Them—a book I loved so much, I included it in my Sedona Retreat this year. It’s filled with incredible wisdom and practical advice for living a more peaceful, fulfilled life.

When I started my coaching journey 5 years ago, Bob Proctor was my main guide. His philosophy—“Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life”—taught me that the only life we can truly change is our own. That lesson has been a cornerstone of my work, helping transform countless lives.

The Let Them theory takes this idea to the next level. Mel Robbins offers an accessible, heartfelt approach to creating personal peace while releasing the need to control others. By embracing the “Let Me” perspective, we give ourselves permission to live authentically while allowing others the space to do the same. 💡

Here are 3 powerful takeaways from the book:
1️⃣ Let Them Be Who They Are: Instead of trying to change others, focus on accepting them as they are. This shift can free up so much mental and emotional energy.
2️⃣ Let Me Choose Peace: Recognize what you can control—your mindset, your reactions, your choices—and prioritize inner calm over external chaos.
3️⃣ Let Them Walk Their Path: Trust that everyone has their own journey and timeline. Letting go of control creates space for mutual growth and understanding.

I’m honored to share these pearls of wisdom with the incredible moms of XCP this coming weekend. It’s going to be a beautiful time of connection and learning. Go Gator Moms! 🐊💚

As 2024 comes to a close, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the year—where I’ve grown, where I still need to grow, what to let go of, and what to embrace more fully moving forward.

This year, my guiding word was Connect. Although, in hindsight, maybe it should have been Basketball! I came out of retirement to help coach Sienna’s middle school basketball team. Who would’ve thought a midlife woman coaching middle school girls would be such a hit? But it must’ve gone well—several parents have already asked if I’ll do it again next year!

Basketball didn’t stop there. I spent countless hours at courts with Chantel this summer, both at the gym and at the park. She held her own in an all-boys park league, playing every weekend—and yes, she even “broke my ankles” during one of our games, much to the delight of the guys on the court! Beyond basketball, she joined her high school’s cross-country team in June, which meant early mornings—4:30 AM six days a week—through the blazing summer heat. It was all worth it to see her make the varsity team and consistently finish as the fourth fastest runner. Proud mom moment!

On the business front, I made the bittersweet decision to pivot from The New Mid Academy to The New Mid Agency. While it wasn’t easy, it’s been heartwarming to see the amazing friendships forged through the Academy continue to thrive.

In my Executive Coaching business, Connect truly guided me. I had the privilege of delivering speaking engagements for Amazon, , and the Scottsdale Blue Zone Project. I also onboarded some incredible corporate clients and even started coaching 20-something men—a new and rewarding challenge! It’s been an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to see what unfolds in 2025.

Looking ahead, my word for 2025 is BUILD.

What’s your guiding word for the new year? Let’s inspire each other! 🌟

It’s easy to get caught up in the events happening around you and feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed - one of the first things I do to calm myself is use a Chopra technique called S-T-O-P.
Stop where you are. Take 3 deep breaths.
Breath in - deep inhale. Then breath out.
Breath in - breath out.
Breath in - breath out.
Now smile! Feel the warm sensation of the smile all through your body as if your heart is smiling.
Now bring the sensation of your smile to your gut as if your gut is smiling.
Now bring the smile to your feet. Feel the smile on the bottom of your feet.
Now bring the smile over your entire body and observe your body. Notice the effects of the smile all over your body.
As you breath in feel love and compassion in your heart.
As you breath out feel love and compassion expanding out into the world.
Now you can proceed with love, compassion and awareness.
S- stop
T- take a breathing break and smile.
O - observe the sensations in your body.
P - proceed with love, compassion and awareness.
Feel free to practice this meditation as often and anywhere you are as often as you’d like when you feel stressed.

I don't know about you but I already miss the Olympics!

The event locations were spectacular and made me want to revisit some of the places we visited in France last summer. To think they did equestrian and a few other events at the Palace of Versailles park and beach volleyball in front of the Eiffell Tower was incredible! It was stunning.

LA 2028 has a lot to live up to but then I remembered how great the Atlanta Olympics were and we had fun last summer visiting those locations in GA as well.

But more than the gorgeous locations are the athletes that work so hard.

There's a great article in Fast Company that talks about the 5 tactics Olympic athletes use to succeed. It's a quick read and very insightful. https://www.fastcompany.com/91168064/5-tactics-olympians-and-athletes-use-that-can-help-you-succeed-at-work

What stood out to me during this Olympics was the support and encouragement amongst the athletes. From Simone and Jordan bowing down to Rebeca in gymnastics to the American and Australian who were cheering on Armand Duplantis from Sweden to break the pole vaulting record. I loved sharing those moments with my daughters.

It's funny but Chantel remarked "I'm so glad the Olympics are during an election year. It's great to see everyone uplifting each other." I couldn't agree more.

I'd love to get your thoughts on this years Olympics. What did you think of the venues? The athletes? What was your favorite competition?

Bonus...post a photo if you've been to Paris!

Viva la France!
Viva los Angeles!

And we’re baaack!
We had the perfect way to start the new school year with Mass/Coffee. served us delicious coffee with really creative coffee names! I got the “Holy Trinity” that was so good! Will definitely go to their store and would would use them for a party!!☕️❤️

It was so great to see my fellow Xavier moms and have to admit it feels a little weird not being a baby gator mom but rather a sophomore mom.

Unfortunately I forgot to take first day of school photos. Maybe I’ll pretend and take them next week. 😂

Some of the most successful women I know take the time go on a retreat to help them get focused on the New Year. It enables them to getaway from the daily chaos and really focus on their lives and what they want to accomplish in the new year.

The impact of getting away from "it all" and having the time to reflect on life, dream without distraction and "really" look at what you want in the coming year is a Very Powerful Tool.

Some of the Benefits:
-Nurture Your Relationship with Yourself.
-Increase Your Creativity, Curiosity, Productivity and Positivity.
-Reflect on 2023: What went right? What were obstacles you overcame? What do you want from 2024?
-Focus on Healthy Goals and Habits.
-Have Peace Away from your Daily Routine.
-Be Surrounded by Like-Minded Women.
-Be Guided through Improving your Spiritual, Mental and Physical Well-Being.
-To Just Show Up and Not have to Worry about Planning Anything!
-To have Lasting Benefits that will stay with you long after the retreat is over.

You would let fresh air into your minds."

There are times I want to stop Adulting.

I want to go back to my childhood during Christmas time because it was The. Best!!

The only thing I had to worry about was…Circle what I wanted out of the Sears Catalog…
Write my letter to Santa…
And try not to bug my brother’s too much!

Now it’s a whole other ballgame.

Cleaning the house…
Buying groceries…
Buying presents…
School Concerts…
Basketball Games…
Holiday Gatherings…
Baking Cookies…
Designing Family Christmas Card…
Sending out Family Christmas Card…
You get the idea…

Our tenants were burglarized this past weekend. There daughter was home. Absolutely horrible! We rushed to get the broken glass door boarded up. Gate fixed and new lock. Got the glass guy over there to get a replacement in the door ASAP. But he only took Venmo or Zelle or so I thought. Turns out he only took Zelle which he said he took Venmo too. So, never having used Venmo I sent half the cost as a deposit to someone else. Ugh!

It’s also our first Christmas after my dad passed away in May. Mom is on her way to spend Christmas with us.

Sienna has her “The Grinch Goes To Trial” play which she wrote (so proud of her!!) at the same exact time as Chantel’s basketball game on Friday.

I’m currently waiting in line at the Paradise Valley Municipal Courthouse to see if I can get an extension on my Photo traffic ticket
(I actually don’t look to bad driving my car😂).

So yeah there are times I wish I could go back and be that little girl on Santa’s lap asking for a Barbie Dream House but then I’d be missing out on so much.

The Joy I feel watching Chantel play basketbal.
Listening to Sienna singing and drawing (she is so talented).
My husband who is constantly trying to understand girl logic that makes us laugh.
Guiding my clients to life changing breakthroughs!

So, what do I do?
What I teach my clients.
Make a priority list and go through it one by one.
What has to get done?
What can I delegate?
What can I not do?

I got my extension and will be doing traffic school.
My hubby dealt with getting the glass door to be replaced in two weeks.
We’re going to the first quarter of Chantel’s game and will hurry over to Sienna’s play.
Two Christmas boxes that have been waiting to be unpacked where brought back up to the attic. Maybe we’ll use them next year but it’s ok to not put everything out this Christmas.

Now I’m on my way to grab a coffee and sit outside to read the book “Uncertain: The Wisdom and Wonder of Being Unsure” as I’m interviewing the author Maggie Jackson in 2 weeks.

So here’s to being grateful that I GET to do Adulting!

Because as i know so well…

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…

Because it’s ALL Small Stuff!

May you find Grace through Gratitude this Holiday Season!!

Every woman on the retreat last year made huge strides in their lives.
They started by connecting back with their true selves - free from the noisy obligations of family, work and life.
They recognized their own unique qualities and gifts, and they all experienced an overwhelming sense of peace and quiet confidence.
We then focused on the obstacles they faced, and learned news ways to tackle them with grace and a new healthy mindset - so they could finishing the year in a much better place than when they started.

In the early months of 2023, the ranks of the world’s most powerful women thinned. Between January and April, political leaders Sanna Marin, Jacinda Ardern and Nicola Sturgeon either lost or relinquished their jobs overseeing Finland, New Zealand and Scotland.

Yesterday I went to the female doctor for the first time in Arizona.

It’s always difficult to go to the female doctor but especially when you have to go to a new one...

Am I right ladies?

You have to go through your medical history and all the things.

What’s interesting for me is explaining how in 2005 I survived a brain hemorrhage that only 2% of people survive.

The doctor joked “You should play the lottery.”

To which I replied “I already did and won.” She smiled because she knew it was true. I cheated death and won another chance at life.

I can remember those first few months coming home from the hospital and then going back to work. I almost cried when I saw my barista at Starbucks the first time I was back because that almost didn’t happen.

During that time, nothing bothered me. Talk about “Not sweating the small stuff.” At that time everything seemed small.

But as true to life, time goes on and the ups and downs of life can dilute what we know to be true.

Nothing is guaranteed.
We are not guaranteed tomorrow.
We are not guaranteed to have our loved ones tomorrow.

So as the quote goes: “Today is a Gift. That’s why they call it the Present.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

How are you being Present today?

And remember...Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff because really...

Mom and I had the privilege of visiting President Jimmy Carter's library in Atlanta GA this summer.

What left a huge impression on both of us was the love, dedication and philanthropy that President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter had.

President Carter thought of his lose to President Reagan as a "forced retirement." But that didn't stop him and Mrs. Carter from leading an amazing life of service.

If you get the chance I hope you can go visit this beautiful and very modest library. He also built right along side it "The Carter Center" a place designed for “Waging Peace, Fighting Disease, and Building Hope.”

After our visit we couldn't help but feel a sense of hope for the world and the love that they felt for one another.

Mrs. Carter has left a legacy of service, hope, love and devotion for her husband that's a great example for us all.

Four years and counting since I started my business.

Close to 200 interviews on my podcast. Almost 100 clients and so many hours of education both for me and for my clients!

It's been quite the adventure that I began in the corner of my bedroom in Ijamsville, MD.

The mission was simple - help midlife women will all the changes that they face during this period in their lives. To help them realize they are not invisible but rather Invincible!

These are what I like to call "Our Power Years."
We've lived and overcome many different obstacles in our lives. And we're still full of possibility!
We're either becoming empty nesters or coming into our own to figure out what our "next" is.

But what seems to hang up a lot of midlife women is the belief in themselves.

Life has put many layers on who we are at our core.
We've taken care of children.
Taken care of parents.
Worked hard to accomplish ourselves in our careers but all the while have forgotten the amazing women we are at our core.

Now is the time to peel those layers back and not feel guilty for spending time on yourself!!

Rediscover the Amazing woman you are at your essence.

One of the main obstacles I've helped many, many women overcome is to find the courage and clarity to BE the woman they know they ARE and not apologize for it.

It might sound simple but when you've lived a life for others, it's easy to forget yourself in the process.

Now is the time to Find You Again!

What lights you up?
What brings you happiness to do things for yourself?
How do you Feel and Know that You are Enough?

This might sound "selfish" to some which is exactly the opposite!
When you take the time to find out what lights you up in your soul, that's when you are able to LOVE from a place of strength, kindness and inner peace.
The ripplie effect it has on the ones around you is beyond anything you can imagine.

They say "a happy wife is a happy life." Well, a "Happy Woman is a Happy Life."

So what make YOU happy?

Stop the hampster wheel of life and DECIDE what is the life You want to live.

I've had the privilege to guide women to:
-Go for the C-Suite position and get their dream job
-Retire and start a New Career, or their own business
-Find their Voice to improve their company and relationships
-Go for a New Position that is creating a whole new division in their company
-Having the confidence to interview for a much higher position at a new company
-Travel and enrich old friendships
-Stop second guessing themselves and take on bigger roles at their work - which has massively enhanced their work experience.
-Eliminate the drama and people who bring drama in their lives.
-Mend relationships they thought we beyond repair.
-Lose weight and keeping it off! No more yoyo dieting!
-Get off medications....

There are so many incredible success stories and results that have happened over the years.

It's what gets me up in the morning!!

I feel so blessed for the women who have come into my life and pray for those who I'm going to work with in the future!

So, If you are curious about what I do I'd like to offer you a very special opportunity.

Last year was the first year I did an in-person retreat in Sedona.
Only the ladies in The New Mid Academy were invited.
As you can imagine it was a transformational event. Everyone left feeling stronger, more confidence, had more clarity, less life baggage and a new sense of BEING! They were ready for 2023 and I can say looking back at each one of them...this has been THEIR YEAR!!
They faced many different obstacles but each one of them would tell you they handled it much better and have a result they never would've gotten without it!

This retreat is a very intimate, soul searching and FUN time. There are only 8 spots and 5 have already been taken so there are ONLY 3 left!

I would LOVE for you to come! Please reach out to me so we can talk about it more.

You can check out more details on my website:
https://thenmidnewman.lpages.co/the-new-mid-retreat-2024/

If you're ready for a Transformation, want to start the New Year 2024 out Discovering more about yourself, and be around some Amazing women...THIS is the Retreat for you!!

Sedona is also an incredible place!!

Let's goooo!!
