A 45-year-old private hire driver, Farrukh Naseem Butt, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a
14-year-old girl during a car journey.

According to the court, he stopped in a supermarket car park, where he groped the child and forcibly kissed her before continuing the journey. He then went on to assault her again by putting his hand under her clothing.

The teenager later told the court she felt uncomfortable and traumatised, and the jury ultimately found him guilty after trial.

A truly disturbing case — and a reminder of how vulnerable young people can be in situations like this.

❗️🇬🇧 A 17-year-old girl was stabbed in the back of the neck on a street in Brierfield, near Burnley.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The girl was taken to hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was knifed in the face during a "large-scale disturbance" in Anfield.

Police raced to the junction of Oakfield Road and Walton Breck Road at around 12.45pm this afternoon following reports of a stabbing.

Footage of the disturbance was circulated widely on social media and appeared to show a large group of men armed with metal poles.

Two groups of men were seen appearing to throw punches, with several people, including police officers, attempting to intervene and break the fight up.

A number of weapons were recovered from the area.

Every country is dealing with its own economic pressures, yet the demand for more funding just keeps growing.

This isn't about ignoring the situation - it's about asking where the limit is.

Serious allegations have come before Belfast
Magistrates' Court.

A Syrian man, Arab Almosto, has been refused bail after being charged with the r**e and sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.

According to the court, he allegedly met the girl in Belfast city centre on 25 May while she was intoxicated, offered to help her, and took her back to a HMO. It is claimed that once there, he led her to a bedroom and r**ed and sexually assaulted her while she froze, before she was later able to escape.

He reportedly left the country two days later, before returning voluntarily and being arrested.

This is an extremely serious case, and like all such cases, it now needs to go through the full legal process.

My thoughts are with the young victim - no one should ever have to experience something like this.
