Male dolphins, particularly bottlenose dolphins, have been observed killing calves that were fathered by other males. Researchers studying dolphin behavior believe this is linked to reproduction and competition between males. Female dolphins usually do not become fertile again while they are raising a calf, which can take several years.

If the calf is no longer present, the female can return to a fertile state much sooner. Because of this, some males attack unrelated calves in order to bring the mother back into a reproductive cycle and increase their own chances of mating.

This behavior is known in biology as infanticide and has also been documented in several other species, including lions and some primates. It is considered part of the complex and sometimes harsh survival strategies that occur in the natural world.

Even very well trained dogs naturally wag their tails when they are around people, especially actors and crew they interact with often. If a scene requires the dog to appear calm, tense, or intimidating, constant wagging can break the illusion.

During the New Kingdom and later, officials were assigned to inspect, repair, and even document ancient tombs and temples that were already considered old.
