Trump’s “efficiency” crusade is targeting the people who need support the most.

$880B in proposed Medicaid cuts could devastate families—especially parents of children with disabilities who are already being buried in intrusive reevaluation forms just to keep vital benefits.

This isn’t about trimming waste- it’s about stripping care from those who rely on it to survive!

Trump’s executive order to dismantle the Department of Education—and Linda McMahon’s plan to offload special ed programs to unprepared agencies—spells chaos for families of students with disabilities.

Shifting oversight to groups with no experience in education will only disrupt services, harm enforcement of civil rights, and leave parents scrambling for answers.

This isn’t reform. It’s reckless and shortsighted politics.

By gutting ADA guidance, the Trump administration is once again putting business interests over disability rights.

This isn’t just about “cutting red tape.” This makes equal opportunity for people with disabilities harder to reach and ADA enforcement even more confusing.

Therapy dogs are making a difference in Absecon, NJ. Students are more focused, calm, and better behaved thanks to Skye and Hope, two four-legged classroom companions.

If these results can be replicated elsewhere, it could reshape how we support student well-being, especially for those with disabilities. Other school districts should be paying attention.

Safety matters- for both drivers and disabled riders. But new regulations requiring drug testing for rideshare drivers in paratransit programs could strain these vital services.

Testing requirements could reduce driver availability, increase costs, and limit same-day transportation that many people with disabilities rely on.

We need smart, inclusive policies that protect and preserve access.

This beyond cruel. Even if the numbers are accurate, how can the now defunct, state owned Glenwood Resource Center realistically expect the estates of Medicaid recipients to foot the bill?

This isn’t just tactless- it’s sinister. A blatant example of how broken the US medical system is, with states punishing families already struggling with loss. Medicaid estate recovery needs serious reform…

The House is pushing for $880 billion in spending cuts over 10 years. Medicaid isn’t specifically named, but it’s unlikely for them to achieve this goal without impacting disability services significantly.

Medicaid already struggles with long waitlists & staffing shortages- any reductions WILL make things worse. Lawmakers must prioritize care for those who rely on these services over the numbers on their budgets.

This is a promising step forward for autism treatment! LinusBio’s new test analyzes a single hair strand to assess autism risk in young children. While still in early stages, this signals amazing new diagnostic procedures on the horizon.

Early detection means earlier support- paving the way for better outcomes. More research is needed, but this is an exciting advancement for autism care!

Healthcare has been caught in the crossfire of politics as of late. Now children’s mental healthcare is at risk. The “Make America Healthy Again Commission” is reviewing psychiatric meds for kids, raising fears of new restrictions on essential treatments.

Kids deserve care based on medical expertise- not political agendas.

Education for students with disabilities isn’t a health issue- it’s a fundamental right. This change would pave the way for more cuts and LESS accountability.

McMahon may claim funding will be maintained, but the Trump administration’s track record tells a different story. Gutting the DoE only puts special education at greater risk. Students with disabilities deserve better!

This is a wonderful step to make police interactions more accessible for people with disabilities.

Policing should never add to trauma, especially for victims of crime. These efforts ensure people get the help they need while feeling safer in stressful situations. More jurisdictions should follow suit!
