Zumba is a fun and healthy activity that promotes exercise through dancing to Latin inspired music. Accidentally created in the mid-90s by an aerobics instructor, this form of exercise has become widely popular all around the world, including the campus. The best part of Zumba is that people do not need to know the dance moves beforehand, and it is fun for people of all ages. It is a healthy way to exercise without hurting the body, and having a companion makes it so much more enjoyable. W&J’s Zumba club offers to have free classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week, making it a regular and fun event that can help de-stress you on busy days! - Aysha Nuhuman

From one student to another. If you are living on campus for Intersession, remember to fill out the form they mention below.

In the wake of Thanksgiving Break and finals, the Zeta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at W&J created their own mannequin challenge!

11/22/2016

Hey everyone!

Since everyone has been working so hard (and because a lot of people already went home to be with family or have registration at 8) we decided to cancel today's meeting.

However, if you would like to meet with Alan or Lauryn, they will be in the office tonight from 8pm to about 8:30pm.

Other than that, have a great Thanksgiving Break and thank you for all the hard work. And we will see you next Monday. 😀

Jonah Jacobs greatly enjoys the outdoor and natural world, from visiting it himself, to just watching documentary after documentary of the great shapes of nature. He uses this inspiration, from the molecular and macroscopic levels, to create amazing pieces of colored nature. Most of his work is made out of cardboard, oatmeal, and other very natural ingredients. He mentioned the fact that he likes to burn his cardboard so that nature has an element in creating his art, not just inspiring it. He also mentioned that his pieces were all hand glued on. Each q-tip used was individually dipped in paint and put onto the piece. There is so much to admire from his work from the style, to the methods used to create it, to the scale of some of his pieces.

Theatre SLAM! is a 24-hour experimental theatre experience for both the actors and the audience. We meet at 7pm Friday to begin constructing something to present 7:30pm Saturday. This "something" can be anything. For the past several years, we began by brainstorming ideas then developing those ideas into 8-10 minute scenes. Typically these scenes draw from popular culture or current issues. We break into teams to write, cast, and direct the scenes. In the end, whatever happens, happens.

Please share the following letter with Lady Wolf to put an end to education funding disparities:

Dear First Lady Wolf,

You are the best positioned person in Pennsylvania to help us with our cause. We are kindly asking for your help!

Act 126 of 2014 established the Special Education Funding formula law and Act 35 of 2016 established the Basic Education Funding formula law. Since enactment, these two laws remain unfunded.

As a direct result, nearly 825,000 of the state’s poorest, mostly minority children attend severely underfunded school districts. In fact, 150 school districts are underfunded by $1.22 Billion in Basic and Special Education funding. At the same time, 14 school districts get $10 Million more than their baseline-funding.
There are dozens of state and national reports demonstrating Pennsylvania sustaining the worse, most inequitable, and racist K-12 education funding in the United States. You can see these impacts here: www.SupportEquityFirst.org
For six (6) years, we have tried every which way to get this done, but nothing has worked.
Governor Wolf has two (2) years left to solidify his legacy as the 47th Governor of Pennsylvania.
It would be the most tremendous legacy for Tom Wolf to be the first and only Governor that ended racism in Pennsylvania school funding.
We hope you will take up our cause with your husband, the Governor.
Thank you.
