🚨🚧2 ROAD WORK UPDATES:
⏺ STOWE STREET BRIDGE opening is now planned for tomorrow, after paving is completed. Lincoln Street will reopen as well.
⏺DUXBURY project along Rt. 100 to repair the Y-shaped intersection at Crossett Hill Rd. began today - should be finished by Weds., Sept. 3.

The opening of the new Stowe Street bridge and Lincoln Street adjacent to the project have been pushed to Wednesday, Aug. 27, after paving is completed. Also, in Duxbury, repairs are underway at the intersection of Vt. Rt. 100 and Crossett Hill Road.

The Harwood School Board resumes meetings this Wednesday. Agenda is posted online. It includes a hearing on a number of new policies to be adopted. 🚨Work on the Stowe Street will include this weekend with the bridge and Lincoln St now expected to be open on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Expect alternating one-lane traffic with flaggers. Also delays while the project is still involving the northbound Rt 100 shoulder and travel lane at times.

The Lincoln Street opening has been pushed back to the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 26 — the same day officials say the new Stowe Street bridge will be opened. Expect alternating one-way traffic and flaggers and delays on Rt. 100 near the work zone.

It took more than 30 miles along I-89 before Vermont State Police were able to stop an erratic driver on Tuesday near Waterbury. The incident caused one minor crash. No one was injured.

An erratic driver on Interstate 89 on Tuesday disrupted northbound traffic from Brookfield to Bolton before state police were able to stop him north of Waterbury. 

Sean Keating passed away last week in a vehicle crash in Fayston. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Just a reminder that this is why the cafe is closed today & Thursday. These road improvements will be great once completed, but it just didn't make sense to open during construction.

There are two chances to Fish with a Warden in Waterbury - tomorrow and on Aug. 30 - organized by Vermont Fish & Wildlife. The free sessions are 6-8 p.m. at the Little River dam. Sign up in advance.
And for experienced anglers, check out how to be a fishing mentor to your friends and family anywhere in Vermont over Labor Day weekend.

Two state departments have teamed up to offer “Fish with a Warden” sessions to offer anglers free expert advice while you fish is available and two of these sessions are in Waterbury on Aug. 21 and Aug. 30.
