Complaints from the community prompted a Harwood Union High School club to postpone plans to show a documentary film about the demonstrations on U.S. college campuses last year regarding the conflict between Israel and Gaza. The event has sparked a discussion around free speech and the school's role to be accessible to the public, including to student clubs. The film, 'The Encampments,' came out this year and is available to view online.

Community objections led a student club to postpone showing a documentary film at Harwood Union High School last month. Plans to show the documentary, “The Encampments,” focusing on U.S. college student protests of the Israel-Palestine conflict, were shelved shortly after the event was announced...

For those who have been asking or just wondering… no VT National Guard Santa parade this year. They will be busy elsewhere.

It is with genuine regret that, due to operational constraints, we will not be hosting Operation Santa’s Convoy this year. This is one of our most cherished outreach events, and we share in the disappointment of not being able to gather with you. We look forward to the opportunity to bring it back in the years ahead.

We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

Town Clerk Karen Petrovic has submitted her resignation, saying that Friday, Jan. 2, will be her last day in her elected role in town government. Petrovic’s notice came a day after Assistant Town Clerk Beth Jones announced she will be retiring in early 2026. The two announcements are the latest in...

A key flood mitigation project and preparations to invite housing development on town-owned property have landed Waterbury $2.3 million in federal disaster recovery grant funding, Gov. Phil Scott and state officials announced on Wednesday.
