The 5th annual All-Ellis County All-Star baseball game is in the books!

A HUGE thank you to the coaches who helped coordinate the student-athletes, the family and friends who showed out in support and the student-athletes for sacrificing their time to showcase their talents.

Rosters for the 5th annual All-Ellis County All-Star baseball game are set and the grounds at Historic Paul Richards Park in Waxahachie are ready to play host on Tuesday, June 24!

⚾️ 6:40 p.m. - Ceremonial 1st Pitch

⚾️ 6:45 p.m. - Team Announcements

⚾️ 6:50 p.m. - National Anthem

⚾️ 7 p.m. - 1st Pitch

Players/parents - confirm availability with your HS head coach or by DM. There are no costs to attend or participate, thanks to the sponsorship of Methodist Midlothian Medical Center.

Waxahachie HS Indian Baseball RBI Club will have concessions available. Gates for student-athletes open at 5 p.m., while spectators can begin arriving at 6 p.m.

If you’re a high school student-athlete, and think for one second that the littles aren’t watching…well, you’ve probably lost a little of the love and a whole lot of the magic.

There will be plenty more photos and videos to come from tonight’s 4th annual All-Ellis County All-Star softball game, but we’re starting with a shoutout to the next generation of softball players who cheered every pitch, hit and throw. The same ones who couldn’t wait to get autographs from their favorite Ellis County All-Star after the game!

And a big thanks to Texas Heat Softball Club’s Kevin Batson, Stephanie Wade, Vince Segura and Miranda Mayes for serving as tonight’s honorary coaches. Your volunteered time allowed for the high school varsity coaches to kickback and enjoy all of the talent that is pouring out of our County!

: The 2025 All-Ellis County all-star softball teams are here!

The third-annual Ellis Countywide all-star softball game, presented by Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, will take place Wednesday, June 18, at Lady Indian Ballpark on the campus of Waxahachie High School. Congratulations are in order for each of these outstanding student-athletes and their respective programs!

🥎 Gates open for student-athletes: 5 p.m.
🥎 Gates open for spectators: 6 p.m.
🥎 Player announcements: 6:40 p.m.
🥎 National Anthem: 6:50 p.m.

Congratulations to Life High School Waxahachie seniors Kaylynn Griffis and Emily Cofer and Midlothian ISD Athletics seniors Tatum Barnett and Zayla Regan on their selections to the 2025 All-State Tournament Teams!

The UIL announced the teams on Sunday morning following the conclusion of the 2025 state soccer tournament. The players are selected by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches and must have competed in the state semifinal or final match.

Midlothian finished its season 23-2-1 after falling to Colleyville Heritage in the state semifinal match.

Life Waxahachie (27-1) suffered its lone loss of the season in the state semis to eventual state champion Celina.

“We want to recognize Angel Lucio for his incredible act of courage and selflessness. During a recent golf tournament, a student from another school fell into the water while retrieving a golf ball and was unable to swim. Without hesitation, Angel jumped in to rescue the student, ensuring their safety.

Despite being soaked for the rest of his round, Angel never sought recognition—he simply did the right thing. His actions exemplify true character, sportsmanship, and leadership.

We are proud to have Angel represent FHS, both on and off the course! Way to go, Angel! 👏⛳ ”

The original, vetted and celebrated All-Ellis County football teams are back! And so is the in-person gala celebration for the first time since 2019, with both once again presented by Methodist Midlothian Medical Center!

The All-Ellis County offensive football teams were released Tuesday, and the 3 All-Ellis County football Player of the Year finalists will be released Sunday evening, Feb. 9.

We've already had our first-ever All-Ellis County volleyball match and are waiting excitedly in anticipation for the first-ever All-Ellis County soccer matches and basketball games -- and, of course, the fifth annual baseball and softball games.

Details for the RETURN of the All-Ellis County Sports Gala will be released in the coming weeks. Our celebrity guest speaker is quite the household name...

It’s going to be hard to top the celebration of sport and community that was on display at the first-ever All-Ellis County All-Star volleyball game!

The West ultimately defeated the East in 4 intense sets (25-22, 26-24, 15-25, 25-21) inside the picture perfect setting and in front of a packed house at The Old Gym (Midlothian Historic Gymnasium Project)!

Midlothian senior outside hitter McKenzie Berg (TCU) received the Methodist Midlothian Medical Center MVP award — The Ellis County Stanley Cup (we’re still working on the name but…). Kraken Kreations fired a perfect ace with the laser engraving!

A special thank you to all of the county coaches who helped call lines, pass along communication to the student-athletes and more. Without each of you, we’d have no programs to celebrate.

The game was also made possible by Magers Excavation, Zeal Dance Force, Elite Diesel Pros, Bluebonnet BBQ and Citizens National Bank, and all in partnership with The Waxahachie Sun.

The court is set for tonight’s first-ever All-Ellis County All-Star volleyball match!

First serve is scheduled for 7p at Midlothian Historic Gymnasium Project, located at 700 West Avenue H, Midlothian, Texas 76065. There are no costs to attend and no need for a ticket — just show up and support these standout student-athletes!

The game is presented by Methodist Midlothian Medical Center.
