There is considerable uncertainty regarding both the track and potential intensity of the two tropical disturbances off the U.S. east coast currently under observation (marked in orange by the National Hurricane Center). While these systems have not yet developed into organized storms, their movement and formation potential continue to warrant close monitoring.

In the meantime, the National Weather Service is forecasting several consecutive days of scattered to widespread showers across our area. This prolonged rainfall is expected to saturate the ground, which may increase the risk of localized flooding should any stronger system develop or if rainfall rates intensify.

Glynn County EMA is actively monitoring all developments related to these systems and will provide additional updates as conditions evolve. This is what we been waiting on … the tropics to wake up. In the next 8- 12 days we will most likely see something brewing in a big way.

The window that concerns us is between the 12-18th ! Stay alert ‼️ you should be making final attempts for pre season stock up and plans - sign up for code red if you are in following counties:

* Wayne
*Glynn
* Brantley
* Camden

Most cities are prepared to help with transportation for people who are in need medically or financially to evacuate should the need arise . Most transport for those with medical need Must be Pre applied and approved!

Now I know why I like flip flops. Models do that a lot in the Tropics. Yesterday's EURO 12z curved next wave to watch north. 00z now back west. Breaking it all down in the AM. Hope I can sleep a few. BTW I need one of those pointy thingies to draw on my phone. My fingers don't do well lol.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Dexter, located over the northwestern Atlantic Ocean. Hurricanes.gov/

Off the Southeastern United States:
A weak area of low pressure has formed from a surface trough, several hundred miles off the coast of the southeastern United States. However, this system is currently producing only limited shower and thunderstorm activity and development is likely to be slow to occur during the next few days. Thereafter, environmental conditions could become a little more conducive for development. A tropical depression could still form by this weekend as the low initially drifts westward before turning northward to northeastward by the weekend. It has a low (10 percent) chance of formation in the next 48 hours and a medium (40 percent) chance in the next 7 days.

Central Tropical Atlantic:
A tropical wave over the eastern tropical Atlantic continues to produce a broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual development during the next few days, and a tropical depression could form late this week or over the weekend as the system moves
generally west-northwestward to northwestward across the central tropical and subtropical Atlantic. It has a low (20 percent) chance of formation in the next 48 hours and a medium (60 percent) chance in the next 7 days.
