🌴 Tropical Disturbance Update – AL94
📅 Thursday, September 25, 2025 – 1:00 PM EDT

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring AL94, a system near the Bahamas that is likely to become a tropical depression in the next day or two.

Key Messages for Our Area:
✅ The system is expected to move near the central and northwestern Bahamas this weekend, then turn northward near or just east of Florida. It may be near the southeast U.S. coast early next week.
✅ While there is still uncertainty in the track and intensity, the chances of wind, rainfall, and coastal impacts along the Southeast U.S. coast are increasing.
✅ NOAA Hurricane Hunters and additional data collection are underway to help refine the forecast.

We’re honored to share that the American Red Cross has awarded ToolBank USA a $384,000 grant to support long-term recovery from Hurricane Helene. 🌪️🔧

Nearly a year after Helene devastated communities across the Southeast, recovery is still ongoing. With this support, ToolBank Disaster Services will continue deploying trailers, tools, and staff to equip nonprofits and volunteers working tirelessly to rebuild.

At ToolBank, we believe that providing the right tools to volunteers is one of the most effective ways to restore hope after a disaster.💙

Glynn County EMA, in partnership with The Salvation Army, is hosting two important community trainings:

Heat Related Illness Response – Learn how to recognize, prevent, and respond to heat-related emergencies such as heat cramps, exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Narcan Training – Gain the skills to identify an opioid overdose and safely administer Narcan (naloxone) to save a life.

🌟 Program Announcement: The S.E.T. Initiative 🌟

Sustain. Expand. Transport.

We’re excited to share a new recovery-centered program designed to meet people where they are—and help them move forward with dignity, support, and real-world tools.

We’ve applied for funding through the Opioid Abatement Settlement to launch the S.E.T. Initiative, and we’re actively seeking additional support to make it sustainable.

Here’s what S.E.T. offers:
🚗 Sustain – Entry fees for treatment covered. A dedicated vehicle to ensure immediate access to care, peer support, and recovery services.
📚 Expand – In partnership with The Star Foundation, we’ll offer sessions in financial literacy, conflict management, and job readiness—empowering individuals to grow beyond sobriety.
🛻 Transport – A reliable vehicle to help participants get to work, court dates, and probation check-ins. Because mobility shouldn’t be a barrier to healing.

💬 Recovery is built in the everyday moments—getting to an appointment, showing up for work, learning a new skill. S.E.T. is designed to make those moments possible.
This initiative is about more than support—it’s about transformation. It’s about creating a culture of hope, inclusion, and practical care for those in early recovery.
