There is considerable uncertainty regarding both the track and potential intensity of the two tropical disturbances off the U.S. east coast currently under observation (marked in orange by the National Hurricane Center). While these systems have not yet developed into organized storms, their movement and formation potential continue to warrant close monitoring.
In the meantime, the National Weather Service is forecasting several consecutive days of scattered to widespread showers across our area. This prolonged rainfall is expected to saturate the ground, which may increase the risk of localized flooding should any stronger system develop or if rainfall rates intensify.
Glynn County EMA is actively monitoring all developments related to these systems and will provide additional updates as conditions evolve. Meantime, this is a timely opportunity to make sure your home and family are prepared: (1) get you "Go-kit" ready; (2) sign up for FREEE Code Red alerts to get up to the minute, live weather updates for your neighborhood.
