This Christmas tree cookie might he my personal favorite. So many of you have shared your stories of what cardinals mean to you, and I’m deeply touched by each and every one. The holidays can be an especially difficult time for lots of people, so I’m sending a wish for peace to those of you who may be missing someone you love or feeling less than joyous right now. ♥️

This cookie wreath has an old fashioned quality to it that I really love. The snowflake cookie reminds me of sugar cookies my mom would buy for us, as kids. They had a pretty design pressed into them and they glistened with sugar on top. We’d park them on our pinkie and eat our way around them to the center. Does anyone else recall these or am I that ancient?

Just a few favs from Christmases past. I haven’t had time to bake a single cookie yet this year! Hopefully I can at least make some drop cookies before Christmas Eve. Hats off to all you bakers who are still decorating away❣️👏🏻👏🏻

Hi, remember me? I haven’t posted in ages, but I couldn’t let one of my favorite seasons come and go without sharing of few of my favorite fall cookies from years past. I hope you’ll enjoy them.

To those of you who have reached out to say you’ve missed my work or just to ask if I’m okay, I thank you with all of my heart. Allow me to explain my absence.

Several months ago, I decided to hang up my cookie apron to spend more time enjoying other aspects of my life that I’d neglected for far too long. One thing I’ve come to know about myself is this - when I develop a passion for something, I immerse myself in it almost to the point of my own detriment. The stress of managing cookie projects and orders coupled with the physical toll that comes from long hours of baking and decorating was taking over my life. Add to that, the amount of time required to create content, respond to every comment and question, support those who were supporting me, and lest we forget, the never ending quest to please the algorithm. I either had a rolling pin, a piping bag or my phone in my hand during every waking hour. It was stealing the joy I’d initially felt with cookie decorating. Suffice to say, I realized it was time for me to step away.

The Flour Gardener will always be one of the most satisfying chapters of my life. The relationships I’ve made, the opportunities that came my way, and the memories I helped others make by contributing to some of the special moments in their life are priceless. And while I currently have no plans to return, I’m not ready to close the door. So for all of you who believed in me and cheered me on (and still follow me!) please know it’s meant the world to me.

Wishing you all the best for a wonderful season ahead.

Much love, Mary ❤️

Bringing back a design that was very dear to my heart. A friend asked me to make these cookies for her baby shower as Lily of the Valley is the birth flower for May when she was due. Her son had other ideas, however, and waited till June to make his debut! 💚 May is my birth month, too, and my grandsons, so this project was personal on many levels. Swipe for a closeup 👉🏻

I drew my design and used my Pico projector and a gray edible fine tip marker to transfer the design to the dry flood. Projectors are so helpful.

More Mother’s Day cookie inspiration for you with closeups. Remember the little floral set for mom that I shared recently? I was asked to recreate something similar for another mom the following year. I don’t know if I prefer the naked background or the white… look back at the previous set on my page if you care to, and let me know your thoughts. 🌷💐🌷💐

If you missed the end of my last flower piping reel, here is what the letters were spelling. Isn’t this a lovely way to tell mom you love her, with both flowers and cookies 🌸🍃🩵 Cutters tagged in the caption of my reel.

What would you put in a cherry blossom cookie vase… cherry blossom cookies, of course. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom right now and I’m loving it. They are so beautiful 🌸🌸🌸
