Winchester 100 won't cycle. Is it clean? Yes, I cleaned it. Well let's get a look at it then. Chamber was rusty, these are a few of the patches.
Blued a bunch of new style brake mounts, a beautiful Colt 1911 for the store so watch for it for sale from Heartland Guns and Ammo, a few small parts and an H&R 410 for a customer. Everything came out perfectly today with no problems. The old gunsmith I learned bluing from always told me that bluing is part science, part skill and part luck. Solid words right there.
Came in a little early to light up the tanks since we have a few things that need to get done.
This one's yours Zach, test fired and ready to come back home.
Dark grey and black flag stencil pattern with a little extra on top of the stock.
Another 9mm bolt gun test fired and ready to go home. We laser mark the caliber designation on the barrels. I hate rechambered guns with no caliber mark.
Of course it was.
Check with us for your finishing needs. We offer all kinds of stenciling and other custom finishes, just ask.
Tearing down the old country club car wash. It's been there as long as I can remember.

I read that rebel silencers has lost their license and is tits up and for sale. Anyone know what happened to them?
Something fun for a change. This is the 1600 engine out of our tube frame VW buggy going back together after freshening up some. All stock stuff, nothing fancy. The rod bearings are all .001 to .0015 clearance and the krauts use full circle mains on all but one journal so you can only gauge that one. We'll set crankshaft end play after it's all together. End play is critical for long life.
A customer wants a 4 position selector to go safe/semi/burst and auto. Here's how I do it.
3 more 9mm bolt action rifles test fired and ready to go back home. One is an SBR.
Remington SBS done for my customer, 8.5" barrel and mag fed.
Multicam stencil job for a customer. Still a little bit of work and clear coat to do.
Shop cat is not impressed.
Don't wait till your 22 looks like this before you see me. More importantly, don't try to take it apart yourself, lose parts and bring it to me in a bag. It's only going to cost you more in the end.
American Flag stencil job, I did the field on the over barrel suppressor and faded into the hand guard.
Switched telephone carriers, transported phone number so it looks like I'll be down for a day or so. They tell me it's a 24 hour period before it's active again.
I've been looking for someone to do a glock slide RMR cut and a couple chevron cuts for a month and can't find anyone to do it. Any ideas?
Always bring plenty of gun. A 50 should do.
It's almost 2020. Still ships with peanuts....sigh...
Well you don't see that very often, my distributor cap burnt a hole clear through. I was lucky to find one on Christmas Eve too. My friend pointed out what appears to be a resistor in there that probably overheated causing this to happen and my van to act up, only my luck.
Deep lasering a cool logo for a customer. He supplied the logo, we converted it and burned it.

Did you know that you can strip the cad or galvanized finish from steels in seconds I hydrochloric acid? Drop your parts in a glass, plastic or in this case a paper cup, pour in the acid to cover the parts and when they quit fizzing they're finished. Rinse with water and dry. The parts will flash rust so be prepared to deal with that. Oh and be sure to use all of the appropriate self protective measures like rubber gloves, eyewear and plenty of ventilation.
Some strange stick powder from a WWII vintage British 303. These sticks were packed in the case legthwise, capped with a cardboard plug then the bullet.
Watch for our latest 300 suppressor, under development now and will be optimized specifically for bolt action use. Pay attention to the delayed gas release after the shot into the bullet trap. I had to hang a rag so it's visible. I expect this one to perform exceptionally well during the next sound meter testing session.
Im going to try to do this 77 today too, I'm going to pull the barrel from the receiver to polish it evenly. Much easier that way and it'll look better in the end. Leupold is going to take care of all the damaged scopes for me, they're a great company to work with.
Rotary marking thread designation on suppressor pistons. Marked 1/2 x 28TPI and yes, my hands are shakey as hell today.
The annual run for the wall just passed our shop. Wentzville is an important stop for the journey since we have the nation's first Vietnam War Memorial right up the street. Everyone camps at the local VFW which is less than a mile from the Memorial. The video is just a few seconds of about a 10 minute passing.
Laser engraving an integrated 9mm bolt action rifle in less than a minute. Its .010 deep, crisp and perfect.
Carbide keyseat cutter showed up so I cut the slide rails where the welds were and fitted the slide to the PM63 rewelded frame today, as you can see its nice an smooth with no tight spots. Next up, clean up more welds and fit the mag well and mags. Coming right along.
Happy Thanksgiving! Thank all of you guys for the support! Have a great day! - Dustin Pluth #AmericanMFG #AM #Thanksgiving #ThankYou #TurkeyDay
Pic one of cleaned and ready for anodizing, note the platinum color of the freshly anodized parts in pic 2 and finally pic 3 is the parts being dyed a golden color
