WEST BRIDGEWATER FOOTBALL: TYLER HOLMES
RECORD SETTER: TYLER HOLMES
Tyler Holmes, a West Bridgewater High School Football player, is an elite and exceptional athlete on the varsity team. Tyler Holmes, a 5’9’ 185 lb. senior star running back and co-captain on the Wildcats team, has set an incredible 10 individual records for West Bridgewater as a Running Back and 6 more records being part of a team that has set others. An astounding 16 total record setters!

Tyler Holmes with exceptional vision, skillset, strength and speed is pure magic when he makes a cut or shift or move and gets into the open field as he is difficult to stop. So many times in his high school career it appears the defense has stopped him but then he somehow escapes to make a spectacular play. He is also a threat and asset out of the backfield catching the ball as well. His touchdown skills are stunning and amazing to watch, and you can only marvel at them. He already has had 8 touchdowns in his career that have gone 50 or more yards with 3 of them going for 80 or more yards. All of them are special highlight reels to see. 3 different times he has scored 5 touchdowns in a single game. Possibly one of the most mind-boggling numbers Tyler has produced is against Dighton-Rehoboth High School. In the 2024 and 2025 season against Dighton-Rehoboth, Tyler rushed for 516 yards, 543 total yards on offense (rushing and receiving) and 698 all-purpose yards plus he has had a total of 10 touchdowns scored against them in 2 games. Another sensational feat is that Tyler Holmes recently scored 3 touchdowns in a single game on 3 carries in a row which was also on 3 consecutive plays in a row for the West Bridgewater offense scoring touchdowns from 25, 82 and 65 yards. However, with the 2025 season in the beginning stage, by the time his career finishes there may be even more to add to this list. All of his current record setters are listed at the end of this article.

In the 2024 season as a junior Tyler Holmes rushed for 1,303 yards and scored a total of 19 touchdowns and was selected as the Brockton Enterprise High School Sports Football Player of the Year. In the 2025 season after 3 games, he is on pace in the regular season alone to score 30 touchdowns, rush for 1,500 yards and come close to 2,000 yards rushing and receiving. Should West Bridgewater make the playoffs once again as they did last season it is possible he may reach more than 2,000 yards on offense rushing and receiving. He is special to watch with his playmaking which is creating plenty of positive buzz and a dream athlete with his talent as well as leadership in making any college to acquire his outstanding skills next season in 2026.

West Bridgewater Head Coach Justin Kogler stated: “Tyler is so versatile. It is a luxury to have a running back that can score at any given time and he has been a great player as well as teammate”.

Superhero Superman wears a capital S on his uniform and in West Bridgewater High School Football history you may as well say with the Superhero like records and performances Tyler Holmes has set he should be wearing a capital T on his uniform for what he has done. Tyler Holmes still has at least 7 games remaining in his high school career and it is more than possible he may set more additional records to add to this already remarkable long list of records.

Although Tyler Holmes is a truly gifted as well as humble running back, praise also needs to be given to his talented offensive lineman and blockers that help in supporting him with many of his accomplishments. These West Bridgewater blockers and linemen do a lot of strong grit work that is not often mentioned and should be recognized as well as being an important factor. The following blockers and linemen that have helped to pave the way in 2024 and 2025 are: Patrick Stanton, Logan Syrek, Liam Collins, Christian Sanchez, Ben Dowdall, Benjamin Kneeland, Cole Seckinger, Sean Hancock, Cedrick Bien-Aime, Sean Hancock (TE) and Tom Polidori (FB).

West Bridgewater High School Football is led by Head Coach Justin Kogler who started with the program from the 2019 season to current which he has developed a strong program with tremendous athletes such as coaching Tyler Holmes. Coach Justin Kogler has never had a losing season as the Wildcats head coach, and he earned his 100th win as a head coach in high school football earlier in the 2025 season.
