WEST/EAST BRIDGEWATER GIRLS HOCKEY:
OLIVIA CARABIN – SPOTLIGHT
West/East Bridgewater WEB goalie Olivia Carabin on the girls’ hockey varsity team as an eighth grader had a historic night defending the net against Hanover on January 10, 2026. Olivia Carabin was simply sensational between the pipes making plays with her stick, pads and gloves. Olivia Carabin faced an astounding 52 shots fired on her and she came away making an incredible 49 saves in the game.

WEST/EAST BRIDGEWATER GIRLS HOCKEY: RECAP
Final: West/East Bridgewater 1 Hanover 3
January 10, 2026. Hanover (6-2-0) defeated West/East Bridgewater 3-1. West/East Bridgewater’s Lauren McPherson scored the lone goal for WEB her fifth of the season. Lauren McPherson has been a highlight performer this season and has collected at least one point in 5 straight games. Mackenzie Belvin picked up the assist (2 on the season).

West/East Bridgewater eighth grade goalie Olivia Carabin was simply sensational in the game as she faced an astonishing 52 shots in the game and made 49 saves.

West/East Bridgewater named Caitlin Kelly as the player of the game for her strong game efforts.

Olivia McCormick, Caitlin O'Neil, and Kylie Fortuna scored for the Hanover Hawks in the Patriot League win at Bridgewater Ice Arena.

West/East Bridgewater now has a record of 3-4-1 this season.

WEST/EAST BRIDGEWATER BOYS HOCKEY: RECAP
Final OT: West/East Bridgewater 4 Nantucket 3 OT
January 10, 2026. The WEB Boys Hockey Team defeated Nantucket 4-3 in overtime at The Bog in Kingston. West/East Bridgewater’s Jack Pimental book shelved the scoring for WEB by getting the first goal of the game and then faking out the Nantucket goalie on a stellar move to slap in the game winning goal in OT! The goals were Jack Pimental’s 8th and 9th on the season).

Other WEB goals who both played strong were scored by Derek Jenkins-Jennings (2 on the season) and Brian Westerlund (1st of the season).

Daniel Vaughn continues to be the set up general as he had 3 assists (6,7 and 8 on the season) other assists came from Tyler Henderson (3 on the season and Everett Reddington (2 on the season).

Once again Brayden Bates was simply sensational facing 46 shots and making 43 saves in the game. Brayden Bates has made 40 or more saves two games in a row.

West/East Bridgewater WEB record is now 3-6-0 this season.

PEMBROKE GIRLS HOCKEY: RECAP
Final: Pembroke 7 Norwood 0
January 10, 2025. Pembroke blanked Norwood 7-0 in a non-league game. Pembroke girls hockey under Head Coach Bill Flynn who also is the head coach for West Bridgewater's girls field hockey team remained on target and fire. The team notched its fifth win in a row, have scored 25 goals during that streak, only allowed 4 goals and are currently climbing as one of the top 20 ranked teams in the state of Massachusetts in high school girls’ hockey with a record of 7-1-0.

Pembroke senior captain Hannah D’Angelo who has been a big part of the Titans rise scored 2 goals against Norwood (10 and 11 on the season) and is the second game in a row she has scored 2 goals in a game. Peyton Sowersby, who has had an outstanding season as the team’s leader in assists scored a goal (3 on the season). Also scoring a goal for Pembroke were Erin Cooley (2 on the season), Ella Sullivan (1 on the season).

Special Highlight: Siobhan Dever and Maeve Shaughnessy each scored a goal for Pembroke which was their first career varsity goals.

Pembroke Goalie Mia Dunphy stopped every shot that came her way with another stellar performance to earn her third shutout of the season in net.

Pembroke (7-1-0) plays next against Quincy/North Quincy (2-6-0) at Hobomock Ice Arena on Monday January 12, 2026 at 7:30 pm.

WEST BRIDGEWATER GIRLS BASKETBALL: RECAP
Final: West Bridgewater 42 Apponequet 69
January 10, 2026. Apponequet (8-1) defeated West Bridgewater 69-42 (4-3) in a South Coast Conference game. Apponequet was led in scoring by CeCe Levrault 16 points and Elyza Wagner 14 points. Apponequet connected on 11 3-pointers in the game.

West Bridgewater’s Alyssa Caldeira was the catalyst for the Wildcats, leading the team in scoring and playing with an abundance of energy, netting 15 points and led the team with 4 steals. Freshman Kayla Walker was outstanding for the Wildcats on the glass as she collected an individual/team and personal high for the season in a single game with 17 rebounds!! in only 3 quarters of play. Kayla Walker also led the team in assists with 5. Eighth Grader Emma Croce also played well with 8 points and 5 rebounds.

West Bridgewater's Brooke Ryan a star guard/player on the team was out and did not play due to an illness.

First Quarter: West Bridgewater led 7-4 early in the quarter until Apponequet caught fire and scored the next 8 points to take a 12-7 lead and never lost that lead again for the rest of the game. Apponequet ended the quarter with a 14-8 lead. West Bridgewater scoring came from Sami O’Neil 3 points, Alyssa Caldeira 3 points and Kayla Walker 2 points. Apponequet scoring came from CeCe Levrault 5 points, Elyza Wagner 4 points, Hannah Kuriscak 3 points, Kate Suneson 1 point and Kyla Claro 1 point.

Second Quarter: Apponequet outscored West Bridgewater 18-15 for a 32-23 lead at halftime. West Bridgewater scoring came from Alyssa Caldeira 7 points, Jill Bouvier 2 points, Kayla Walker 2 points, Emma Croce 2 points, and Sami O’Neil 2 points. Apponequet scoring came from CeCe Levault 9 points, Kyla Claro 4 points, Hannah Kuriscak 3 points, and Elyza Wagner 2 points.

Third Quarter: Apponequet scored its most points in the game with exceptional passing and shooting for 22 points and played strong on defense to only allow West Bridgewater to score 10 points. Apponequet led 54-33 at the end of the quarter. West Bridgewater scoring came from Alyssa Caldeira 4 points, Kayla DaSilva 2 points, Emma Croce 2 points, and Regan Bryant 2 points. Apponequet scoring came from Jillian Gagnier 8 points, Kate Suneson 6 points, CeCe Levrault 2 points, Hannah Kuriscak 3 points, Kyla Claro 2 points and Elyza Wagner 1 point.

Fourth Quarter: Apponequet outscored West Bridgewater in the final quarter 15-9 that included 4 3-pointers from the Lakers. West Bridgewater scoring came from Emma Croce 4 points, Liliana Morales 2 points, Allie Edgerly 2 points and Alyssa Caldeira 1 point. Apponequet scoring came from Elyza Wagner 7 points, Kate Suneson 2 points, Sadie Taylor 3 points and Ava Cobis 3 points.

OLD ROCHESTER vs GNBVT GIRLS BASKETBALL: RECAP
Final: Old Rochester 44 Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical 49
January 9, 2025. Greater New Bedford Vocational (5-3) defeated Old Rochester (6-2) in a league game by the score of 49-44. Greater New Bedford had 3 players scoring in double figures with Sofia Ramos Rodriguez 14 points, Lila Emken 12 points and Kaira Dubois 11 points.

Old Rochester was led by Emma Johnson who played a strong overall game to finish with a double-double 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sydney Bosma also played well and almost had a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

First Quarter: Greater New Bedford Vocational took an early lead 10-4 with 4 points scored by Sofia Ramos Rodriguez. Old Rochester then took charge to comeback scoring the last 9 points in the quarter to end the first period with the Bulldogs leading 13-10. Old Rochester’s Emma Johnson had 5 points, Carly Mello 2 points and Maddie Hardy 2 points during the 9-0 run.

Second Quarter: Old Rochester continued were it left off in the first period by starting the second quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 19-10 lead with scoring from Saddie Hartley-Matteson 2 points, Emma Johnson 2 points and Sydney Bosma 2 points. Greater New Bedford Vocational cut the lead in half to end the quarter with Old Rochester leading 28-24 as Greater New Bedford’s Olivia Reis connected on two 3-pointers and Sofia Ramos Rodriguez connected for one as well for the Bears.

Third Quarter: Greater New Bedford Vocational tied the game 28-28 by scoring the first 4 points of the quarter from Sofia Ramos Rodriguez. Greater New Bedford later extended their lead to 36-33 to end the quarter on top with hustle and scrappy playing to outscore Old Rochester in the quarter 12-5. GNBVT were highlighted by 3-pointers from Jaiana Silva and Sofia Ramos Rodriguez. Old Rochester had scoring from Sydney Bosma 4 points and Carly Mello 1 point in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter: With Greater New Bedford Vocational up by 6 points, 41-35, Old Rochester scored the next 4 points on baskets from Emma Johnson and Sydney Bosma to cut the lead to 41-39 and later 43-41 on a basket by Maddie Hardy. However, Greater New Bedford’s Lila Emken scored 4 of her team’s last 6 points to pick up the win 49-44. Old Rochester had scoring from Hannah Thorell 4 points, Emma Johnson 3 points, Maddie Hardy 2 points and Sydney Bosma 2 points.

EAST BRIDGEWATER GIRLS BASKETBALL: RECAP
Final: East Bridgewater 64 Middleborough 30
January 9, 2026. East Bridgewater remains undefeated as they dominated Middleborough by defeating them 64-30. East Bridgewater’s Jenna Oman had an outstanding overall performance getting a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Molly Schlossberg continued her highly productive season netting 16 points. Jackie Pohl led with 7 assists and Bella Abrams led in steals with 6 for East Bridgewater now (8-0).

First Quarter: Middleborough scored the games first 7 points all by eighth grader Quinn Hufault to take an early 7-0 lead. East Bridgewater only managed 6 points in the quarter as Middleborough finished the quarter with a 13-6 lead and a possible upset on their minds. Jackie Pohl, Emma Farrell and Harley Fritz each scored 2 points for East Bridgewater in the quarter.

Second Quarter: East Bridgewater went on a 10-0 run to start the quarter to take the lead 16-13 and ended the quarter with a 23-19 lead. Jenna Oman powered the quarter for East Bridgewater netting 8 points and getting 4 rebounds.

Third Quarter: East Bridgewater outscored Middleborough 24-6 in the quarter thanks to a 8-0 run to start the quarter and ended it with a 47-25 lead. Molly Schlossberg shined in the quarter with 8 points and Jenna Oman had 7 points.

Fourth Quarter: East Bridgewater outscored Middleborough 17-5 in the final quarter. Harley Fritz highlighted the quarter for East Bridgewater with 5 points and 3 rebounds. Molly Schlossberg banked in 4 points. Maggie Weir scored 2 points and had 2 exceptional assists.

The entire East Bridgewater team had a fantastic game on defense (Bella Abrams, Jenna Oman, Jackie Pohl, Lily Pavidis, Jessica Long, Emma Farrell, Harley Fritz, Molly Schlossberg, Brooke Murphy and Maggie Weir).

Middleborough was led by Quinn Hufault and Amelia Roberts with 7 points each.

Final: West Bridgewater 62 Old Rochester 73
January 6, 2025. Old Rochester (5-3) defeated West Bridgewater (3-3) in a South Coast Conference game by the score of 73-62. Old Rochester outscored West Bridgewater 26-15 in the third quarter with effective shooting and playmaking to highlight the win. Old Rochester had 3 players who scored double digits in Grady Oliveira 17 points, Noah Thorell 15 points and Henry Berry 12 points.

West Bridgewater’s Jag Garces and J.J. MacLean led the Wildcats in scoring with 11 points each.

First Quarter: West Bridgewater broke out to a 13-6 lead highlighted by 6 points from J.J. MacLean and 5 points from Jag Garces. However, Old Rochester bounced back by scoring the final 6 points in the quarter with 3 of them coming from Noah Thorell to close the quarter with a West Bridgewater 13-12 lead.

Second Quarter: With the score tied 21-21, Old Rochester took an 8-0 run to claim the lead 28-21 before West Bridgewater scored next. Old Rochester closed out the quarter with a close 32-28 sore at halftime. Noah Thorell and Brody Hiles paced Old Rochester with 5 points each in the quarter. Armani Lloret led West Bridgewater in the quarter with 7 points.

Third Quarter: With Old Rochester up 34-31, West Bridgewater scored the next 5 points on a 3-pointer by Nick Navin and a basket by J.J. MacLean that helped the Wildcats take a 36-34 lead. However, Old Rochester went on an 8-0 run for the second time in the game to take the lead back 42-36. Later in the quarter Old Rochester with Old Rochester up 45-40 after a 3-pointer by J.J. MacLean from the Wildcats, the Bulldogs went on a 13-0 run with effective shooting for a 58-40 lead before a West Bridgewater Colin O’Neil 3-pointer ended the quarter. Old Rochester outscored West Bridgewater 26-15 for a 58-43 lead at the end of the third quarter. Old Rochester was paced in the quarter with 10 points from Grady Oliveira. J.J. MacLean led West Bridgewater with 5 points in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter: Old Rochester extended the lead by 22 points with a 65-43 score before resting most of its starters. West Bridgewater went on a 9-0 run the quarter and ended the quarter by outscoring Old Rochester 19-15. West Bridgewater was led in the quarter with 6 points each from Sam Bell and Ben Stapleton. Nick Navin chipped in with 5 points including a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Old Rochester had scoring from 6 different players in the quarter.

WEST BRIDGEWATER GIRLS BASKETBALL: JV
Final: West Bridgewater 32 Bridgewater-Raynham 33
January 8, 2026. Bridgewater-Raynham rallied in the final quarter to comeback to defeat West Bridgewater 33-32 in a girl’s junior varsity basketball game.

West Bridgewater’s eighth grader Emma Croce had a monster game tallying a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Eighth grader Regan Bryant also shined in the game playing well with 9 points, 6 rebounds and led the team with 4 steals.

First Quarter: Both teams were neck and neck as they played to a tie 7-7 after the first quarter. Regan Bryant was the highlight for the Wildcats, netting 5 points, picking up 3 rebounds and 3 steals in the quarter. Liliana Morales scored the Wildcats first basket.

Second Quarter: After Bridgewater-Raynham took an early 9-7 lead to start the second quarter, West Bridgewater went on an 11-0 run to take an 18-9 lead and ended the quarter leading 18-12. Emma Croce scored 6 points and had 3 rebounds in the quarter. Regan Bryant scored 4 points, and Brianna DePalma scored the other point for the Wildcats.

Third Quarter: Bridgewater-Raynham started the third quarter on a 7-0 run to close the West Bridgewater lead to 21-19 until West Bridgewater scored and finished the quarter with the Wildcats leading 25-21. Emma Croce scored 5 points to lead the Wildcats in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter: After the Wildcats were up 26-23 in the early part of the final quarter, Bridgewater-Raynham went on another 7-0 run for the second time in the game to take the lead for the first time in the game since early in the second quarter. Bridgewater-Raynham led 30-26 with 4:30 left in the game. West Bridgewater’s Liliana Morales then got the Wildcats back as she connected on a 3-pointer and made a free throw to tie the game 30-30 with 1:17 left in the game. Then with 58 seconds left in the game Bridgewater-Raynham made good on a 3-pointer from the left corner to retake the lead 33-30. West Bridgewater’s Emma Croce was fouled with 45 seconds left and made both free throws to make it a 33-32 game. Bridgewater-Raynham was fouled with 14 second left but could not take advantage as they missed both free throws and then with 1 second left in the game West Bridgewater had an opportunity as they were fouled but rimmed both fouled shots that ended the game in a close battle and a Bridgewater-Raynham 33-32 win.

January 7, 2025. Abington defeated West/East Bridgewater WEB 8-4 in a league game. West/East Bridgewater’s Jack Pimental continues to be hot as he piled up more points as he scored 1 goal (7th of the season) and had 2 assists (7th and 8th of the season) and now has 15 points in 8 games this season. Also scoring for West/East Bridgewater were Everett Redington (3rd of the season), Tyler Henderson (2nd of the season) and Breck Boselli (1st of the season and 1st in his varsity career).

West/East Bridgewater WEB assists were made by Daniel Vaughn (5th of the season), Noah Holland (3rd of the season), Derek Jennings (1st of the season) and Shane O’Neil (1st of the season).

West/East Bridgewater goalie Brayden Bates made 40 saves in the game and now has racked up 271 saves this season in 8 games.

January 7, 2025. West/East Bridgewater WEB and Ursuline girls’ hockey finished the game with a tie score of 1-1. West/East Bridgewater WEB played a strong game and remains unbeaten in its last 4 games. WEB was led by Lauren McPherson who scored the lone goal her 4th of the season. Lauren has now scored at least one point in 4 games in a row. Kenzie Whitman picked up the assist (2nd of the season). Kenzie has now scored at least one point in 3 games in a row.

January 6, 2025. East Bridgewater remains undefeated as they defeated Norwell in Overtime 37-34. East Bridgewater’s Bella Abrams led the Vikings in scoring with 9 points and was sensational in overtime picking up 2 of the teams 4 points and made 2 key steals and rebounds. Molly Schlossberg was a force in the middle picking up 8 points and 7 rebounds. Jackie Pohl was relentless as well as tireless as she played the entire game including overtime in full steam leading the team with 9 steals and also scored 7 points and dished out 6 assists. Jessica Long led the Vikings on the glass with 9 rebounds. Emma Farrell made 2 key free throws in overtime and hit a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter that allowed the team to go to overtime.

First Quarter: Norwell’s Alexandra Cassidy Jr. scored the game’s first 4 points as they kept the lead the entire quarter taking a 9-6 lead. Lily Pavidis, Harley Fritz and Molly Schlossberg scored for East Bridgewater.

Second Quarter: East Bridgewater tied the game 9-9 on a score by Bella Abrams and Jackie Pohl put the Vikings ahead for the first time in game on a free throw for a 10-9 score. East Bridgewater tied the game at 11 on a Jackie Pohl free throw and then Molly Schlossberg made a basket, and Jackie Pohl hit a 3-pointer to put East Bridgewater up at halftime 16-11.

Third Quarter: After Norwell took a brief 1 point lead 20-19 on a basket by Alexandra Cassidy Jr and a 3-pointer by Ameila Dowd, East Bridgewater tied the score at 20 on a free throw by Harley Fritz and later took the lead on a basket by Molly Schlossberg who also later hit a buzzer be**er score to put East Bridgewater up 28-23 at the end of the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter: Norwell outscored East Bridgewater 10-5 in the final quarter. East Bridgewater held the lead most of the third quarter and led 33-29 with 3 minutes left in the game on a Emma Farrell 3-pointer. However, Norwell made a free throw by Amelia Dowd and then Katherine Murray hit a 3-pointer to tie the game 33-33 with 1:19 left in the game. Both teams defense held each other the rest of the quarter to send the game to overtime.

Overtime: East Bridgewater’s defense proved to be the difference as they held Norwell to only 1 point in the 4 minutes of overtime that was scored on a free throw made by Katherine Murray. East Bridgewater’s Bella Abrams was a standout scoring a basket that put the team up 35-34 and she also made 2 big steals and 2 key rebounds. Emma Farrell made the final 2 Vikings points on free throws for the 37-34 win.

Norwell was paced by Alexandra Cassidy Jr. 8 points, 11 rebounds and Amelia Dowd 8 points, 8 rebounds.

East Bridgewater (7-0) plays next against Middleborough (3-5) at East Bridgewater High School on Friday January 9, 2025, at 6 pm.
