The County Commissioners proclaimed October Domestic Violence Awareness Month. They held a public comment and vote on Ordinance 2025-03, which created a Human Relations Commission, as well as highlighted Clinical Services in Chester County.

The Chester County Government formed a Human Relations Board and our editor, Kyle Hudson, spoke to Carrie Stare, President of the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County, about the decision. After yesterday's vote on Ordinance 2025-03, Carrie Stare, President of the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County, had some remarks.

"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COUNTY-WIDE NON-DISCRIMINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING, AND PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS; CREATING A HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION AND PROVIDING FOR INVESTIGATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF CLAIMS OF DISCRIMINATION"

As of today, all Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant locations are closed. The Iron Hill here in Downtown West Chester, PA was their second location and opened in 1998.

Today, over 100 people came to a meeting of the Chester County Government where after about two hours of public comment, the County Commissioners voted 2-1 to create a Human Relations Board to investigate discrimination in Chester County.

As pointed out by County Commissioner Josh Maxwell and County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz, as well as the solicitor, this ordinance names many protected classes explicitly that are often only given protection through extensions of rights granted to other protected classes.
