2026 Butte College Commencement Ceremony

Butte College’s graduation is one of my favorite events to capture… the excitement, the sense of accomplishment, and the feeling that a whole new chapter is about to begin. The energy is contagious, and it’s just really fun filming these types of events.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Butte the past few years, and it’s always such a pleasure working with the amazing team over there.

I know I say this about every project, but highlighting Butte County’s public transit system was very fun.

Riding the bus around town, directing folks, and collaborating with a client who trusts your creative vision is always fantastic. Huge thanks to B-Line Transit for bringing us along for this one!

We partnered with B-Line to build a fresh library of photos and videos showcasing their new fleet and the communities they serve across Butte County.

Over several shoot days, we traveled from Chico to Paradise, Oroville, Gridley, and Live Oak, capturing the places B-Line Transit connects every day and showing just how easy it is to get around.

The buses are clean, air conditioned, and staffed by some very friendly drivers.

What I love most about projects like this is helping organizations build a content library they can use on websites, social media, ad campaigns and future marketing efforts.

If you haven’t taken the bus lately, now’s a great time to give it a try!

This past week I’ve been clearing some old hard drives and organizing my garage, and I came across these two photos.

The first one is a recent bts shot of me acting as a stand in.

The second one is a photo I took a million years ago while working on one of the Fast and Furious movies.

People like stories so here’s a story…

When I was a Junior at Chico State, my career goal was to be a movie director. When internship opportunities rolled around, I got offered a spot at E! Entertainment down in LA. My immediate reaction? Hard pass. I wanted to work on movie sets, not at a television studio.

Looking back, I can’t believe I had the audacity to say no. Honestly, pretty arrogant of 20 year old me. 😬

After talking to one of my teachers I went back and said “yes” and took the internship that summer. And it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.

On one of my first days they asked me to be a stand in while they set the lights to one of the shows. Sounds pretty basic but at the time it was pure magic and looking back the memory is still pretty perfect.

Fast forward to post graduation I was back in LA working at E! and that one “yes” eventually opened doors to movie sets, TV shows, and opportunities I never would have be exposed to had i not said yes.

Since it’s graduation season, here’s some some advice you didn’t ask for… say “YES.” Even when the opportunity isn’t the exact role you want long term, even if it’s not paying what you think you deserve, if it gets you in the field you’re interested in say YES to the experience, you won’t regret it.
