Look for his reporting on NBC News and MSNBC. A Note from Mendes Napoli to all NMG clients:

I want to let you know how much we all appreciate the work you are doing to keep viewers informed and up to date with important details about the virus.

The media, both local and nationally, have become an important lifeline for all of us in the public, and I wanted to let you to know that we recognize how hard you must be working to provide that very important service to your viewers. Our hope is that you stay as safe as you can while doing this all-important work.

As your representatives, we want to let you know that we remain available for you, at any time, to help navigate newsroom or employment issues, should you need us.

As a precaution, we have closed our Beverly Hills office for the next few weeks. That said, we all continue to be at our home offices, wired into our database, our emails, and our phones. Our trusted assistants have been linked from their home computers to help with all of our regular functions.

In short, while we are not in the office, we are all still up and running at full speed and “here” for you if you need anything.

That was close! NMG client and KABC Chris Cristi’s chopper struck by an object, maybe a . Everyone is good and chopper landed safely. But Cris says it was scary at the moment.

From the LA Daily News:

Air7HD, the ABC7 helicopter, was struck by a drone tonight over downtown Los Angeles, but its pilot was able to land safely.

The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m., but did not affect the helicopter's ability to fly, according to ABC7.

"After some tense moments over Downtown LA..., Air7HD has landed safely following a midair collision with a drone which has damaged our tail," pilot Chris Cristi tweeted. "Thankfully our crew is fine!"

A photo posted by Cristi showed a dent and scratches on the plane's tail, as well as a small hole nearby.

"It was a scary couple of minutes not knowing what happened," he said. "But it feels great to be back on the ground."

Cristi said he and his crew initially thought they hit a bird, but once on the ground it was determined it was most likely a drone that struck the helicopter.

The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident.

"This could have been a disaster & we are glad everyone is okay," the LAPD tweeted. "Be a responsible and legal unmanned aircraft operator... know & follow the rules."
The city of Los Angeles has an ordinance in place that prohibits flying drones within five miles of an airport, above 400 feet or in any way that interferes with an aircraft. The ABC7 helicopter was flying at an altitude of 1,100 feet.
