We were comparing grip arms for action cams, and realized our more expensive GoPro arm wasn't as good as our Smatree arm.
The Smatree Smapole X1 is aluminum and locks at each articulation point. It also has a tightening wrench, and a standard 1/4" post to work with any camera of suitable weight, and an action cam adapter that works with the action cam "standard" swivel mounts.
The GoPro 3-Way Grip|Arm|Tripod is mostly plastic, and has a tripod I wouldn't use for much of anything.
It also costs over twice the price, allowing the purchase of a far better tripod, such as the Andoer tabletop tripod.
The X1 is going to be my go to grip arm for my action cams.
FINAL NOTE: The GoPro Hero Max 360 cam is a great concept that's rendered off and on useless by horrible software. Keep an eye on it. Once they fix the software, it will make a great cheap little 360 cam with lots of potential.
Which platform does the software need massive improvement on? ALL of them.
