Semantics, word, language, they can be so twisted even when we are truly listening from the context of understanding the speaker's intent.
So many adages are devoted to the power of words:
"Don't kill the messenger!"
𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞
"The pen is mightier than the sword."
𝐄𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐰𝐞𝐫-𝐋𝐲𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧
"The secret of being boring is to say everything."
𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞
"Don't ever diminish the power of words. Words move hearts and hearts move limbs."
𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐳𝐚 𝐘𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐟
And finally my three favorites:
“The difference between the almost right word and the right word
is the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning”
Mark Twain

“Everybody smiles in the same language”
George Carlin.

Welcome to Snippet Wednesday where for the last time we will reflect on the conversation I had with Travis Lachner on the 7th episode of Season 1 of The Get Kraken Lab Podcast.
Each week we will feature a quote on Monday, another on Tuesday, and a snippet on Wednesday.
Do I want you to listen to my podcast?
Of course but not only for the reasons you think but also for the edification ON and motivation FOR leveraging the creative process, YOUR creative process to live a rich and fulfilled life.
To be honest my quote above rang so true for me during the years from 11 to 17.
My familial home was my only safe haven. Whenever I ventured out there was a high likelihood I would be abused, bullied, or harassed due to me being different.
The physical and sexual abuse I could compartmentalize (not saying it was healthy but I stuffed it deep down in my psyche for a long time) BUT the VERBAL abuse BROKE ME SOUL!!!
My mother would have to pick me up from the nurse's office 1 to 2 times per week in Junior High School because I was "ill".
In high school I was dead inside but put up a good front. So well was this front that my few friends nor my siblings had no idea what was going on.
The creative process (in math, chemistry, wood/metal shop, and music) were my life line.
Most of us suffer from some form of self abuse (as well as external) and if I were a doctor I would prescribe:
DAILY DOSES OF CREATIVITY
No matter how small, how brief, it will create a crack in the door and after continued practice it will break it wide open and you will be free, you will be in touch with your heart and soul, and you will live a rich and fulfilled life.
It is my sincere hope that listening to my podcast will help set you free.
Listen to this snippet with Travis and start to crack the door to creativity open.
