It's happening!

Finally making the plunge into the world of (not going to use the word podcasting, as so-called podcasting reaches around the world) internet BROADCASTING. Channels will be on Metaphysics and Spirituality; Ohio State and College Football; Rock-Pop-Soul and Country music and more. I know I should pick one and specialize in it for monetary purposes but we'll see. Another topic may be just on what I do best -- radio. Radio Personalitys rarely are interviewed on camera.

This equipment will also allow me to do commercial production; Voice Tracking stations and more.

Doug Holzmeier is a delightful person I met in the mid-1990s through his radio program in Wheeling, WV. We met after I won a gift from a contest his station was running. I left the radio station that day with much more than my prize in hand.

It has been a pleasure getting to know Doug, the person behind the voice on morning radio.
From our first meeting it became clear that Doug’s interests involved so much more than his profession. You knew this about Doug listening to his morning show. Getting to know him personally only reinforced this fact.

Doug is passionate about his work, and he continually strives to better himself. I appreciate his kindness to me over the years, educating me about the broadcast and music industry. Our friendship continues even though we no longer live in the same community, with Doug residing on the other side of the country. Each time we talk, I reminisce about how
lucky I was to walk into his radio station so many years ago. I feel fortunate to call Doug, my friend.

It is with honor and great pleasure to write a recommendation for Douglas Holzmeier.
First of all, I am jealous that he is not broadcasting in my state. The city of Wheeling, WV and the state of WV hasn’t recovered since he left. Radio just hasn’t been the same.
I have known Doug and his dear wife Denise for 30 years and I feel privileged to know them. Listening to Doug started off my day right. His talent as an air personality and programmer was obvious. His mix of music was amazing. He had a keen sense of what you wanted to hear. I don’t think I ever called requesting that a song be played because he always knew. That, my friend is a Gift.

He also always knew what to say when interacting with his listeners. His easy going style was attractive when he was describing a song or talking to a listener on the air. He cared. The love for his craft and the care for the product he created were unmistakable and greatly respected in our area.

Again, Doug CARES!! While in Wheeling, he made the community better. His interest in Easter Seals was well known. He and his wife Denise were key in helping the work of this vital organization. I have been humbled to know him as a dear friend. Indeed, I consider him a brother. He has been by my side for one of the most difficult times in my life and has been unwavering in his support. In a word he has been LIFE-GIVING.

Doug Holzmeier is a kind, compassionate, trustworthy and dear person. In short, he is a child of God. I give him my highest recommendation. You would be extraordinarily lucky to have him.

I have known Doug nearly my entire life. The two of us grew up as next door neighbors from the time he was three and I was four years old. Doug’s character and reputation are above reproach. I believe growing up as closely as we did makes me well-qualified to testify to Doug’s integrity. Doug’s character, his solid values, and principles, were developed and ingrained in him by his parents. He has always possessed a strong sense of ethics and loyalty.

From the earliest years, radio was Doug’s passion. We all knew that he would end up with a future in radio. When he wasn’t playing sports with the rest of the neighborhood kids, you could usually find Doug engrossed in his records and listening to the local radio in Columbus, Ohio. He listened and practice the skills with zeal he would lead him into the radio industry.

In closing, I strongly believe Doug exhibits the stellar attributes which are the hallmarks of a strong leader. I highly recommend Doug for whatever you are considering him for.

33 years ago this month I was living large performing 10a-2p at my dream station: WXGT 92X/Columbus Ohio.

I'm sure glad that this Grove City boy who grew up on WCOL in the 1970s and then Most Music 92X in the 80s... got to be a member of an exclusive club of Columbus CHR Royalty: Buddy Scott Chris Shebel; Gary Spears Dave Robinson Joe Dawson Monique Harris Dawson Doug Ritter; Suzy Waud; Joe Kelly Adam Cook; Mark Daniels; Pan Pam Rahal Jon Zellner; Kevin Haynes; Kelly Quinn Tom Kelly; Greg Jordan; Tony Coles and precious few others.

Listening to this aircheck, I'm as intrigued by how tight the sound was as anything else. You had to be PRESENT and ENGAGED. You were one with the music; imaging; promotions...it was glorious. You had to be there. And I was.

This is proof positive that in (nearly) another life-time I was a Hot Rockin', Hit Crackin', Flame Throwin' top 40 boss jock. Fun times in the late 1980s rig...

Possibly my most successful promotion started when I convinced B.E. Taylor to perform an annual Christmas Concert starting in 1995 in Wheeling. From 1995 to 2015 these Christmas shows entertained hundreds of thousands in over a dozen cities. Bill and I were friends. We lost him in 2016 after a nine year battle with a brain tumor.
