Bloom in Crisis is the embodiment of hope — it is a belief, a practice, a state of being that empowers you to skillfully regulate emotions, build spiritual resilience, enhance self-awareness, unleash the potential of your mind, foster a grateful heart, cultivate joy, nurture positive energy, promote inner peace, grow self-compassion and compassion for others, embrace the present moment, derive wis

dom from introspection, transform pain into grace, recognize positive possibilities even in adversity, and actively shape your narrative, ultimately leading to a happy and fulfilled life (with a touch of style!)

Knowing deeply how painful and lonely it is to go through incredibly hard times alone, Zip Nguyen has a profound empathy and compassion for people who are going through it. She started blogging when the pandemic started in March 2020 and later on released Bloom in Crisis podcast and YouTube channel, with a mission to give back as much as she can in her lifetime, and create a global community where everyone from different cultures, generations, and backgrounds overcome tough times together, learn, and uplift each other through the power of authentic storytelling, cross-learning, and sharing pragmatic guidance. While the main language of both the website and the podcast is English, Zip also wants to use her platforms to bring Vietnamese voices and conversations to the world while connecting with the Vietnamese community, so there are also content written and episodes spoken in Vietnamese, Zip's native language. Believing that everyone can 'bloom in crisis' and having a deep desire to help others internalize this for themselves, Zip founded Bloom in Crisis to share how she practices it and what she's learned throughout her journey.

❓ Want to impress hiring managers with your data portfolio and increase your confidence in analytics?

Based on the strong demand and feedback from our previous workshops, our upcoming BIC Skillset session will go deeper into Tableau & Python, with an added focus on AI applications in data analysis.

Our beloved BIC Mentor Socheata will show you how you can build a project that you can talk about confidently in your interviews and share with your network.

By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a tangible BI case you can add to your portfolio or share in your interviews.

❓ What if one workshop could give you a project you can actually talk about in interviews?

Most students learn tools like Tableau and Python in class.
But the real question recruiters ask is: how do you apply them to solve business problems?

That’s what this session is about.

The BIC Skillset Series continues with a hands-on workshop where we explore how Business Intelligence Analysts actually use Tableau and Python in real roles, and how those skills show up in technical interviews.

By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a mini BI case you can reference in interviews or add to your portfolio.

This is not a Tableau 101 tutorial – it’s about learning how the tools are actually used in business.

Throwback to about two years ago when we caught our dear friend and fellow Bloomer, John Rivas, watching our YouTube episode on “Do These to Build and Sustain a Happy Relationship” 🤭

Although John was very confident in his response (lol!) he wasn’t wrong to say “crisis in bloom” 😮‍💨

We hope this Valentine’s Day reminds all of us of the power of love — beyond just romantic love — and how cultivating it every single day helps us bloom in crisis, together ❤️

❓ What skills do recruiters actually look for during interviews?
❓ And how do you intentionally build them, before you’re in the room?

The Marketing Area at the Gabelli School of Business and Bloom in Crisis are partnering to offer the BIC Skillset series, designed to bridge the gap between learning and landing the role.

This hands-on workshop series breaks down how professionals successfully secured their roles, what interview processes truly assess (behavioral + technical), and how those expectations translate into real, day-to-day work.

💻 These sessions focus on building practical, usable skills — bring your laptop for an interactive experience.
