Designers at the Hastings Bath Collection seem to be in a frame of mind. The brand’s new Collection is a line of wash basins inspired by the “timeless elegance of mid-century design.” Crafted in Italy, the pieces blend forms with colors that range from soft rose and yellow to deep green, raspberry red, and inky black.

The men behind Dolce & Gabbana have proven they can put on a show time and again, and now, one of those spectacles is making a stop in Florida.

After much success in Milan, Paris, and Rome, the exhibition From the Heart to the Hands will be on view at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami in the from February 6 to June 14, 2026. The show unfolds across a series of rooms that illuminate the brand’s vision through the years via more than 300 pieces from both archival and new collections, all while touching on art, , folklore, artisanal crafts, opera, and ballet. “[It’s like stepping] into the world of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana,” says exhibition curator Florence Müller, “where magic and fantasy, legend and reality intertwine.”

🟢🟣The NEWEST issue of is OUT NOW🟢🟣

Avra Jain and Danié Gomez-Ortigoza (Journey of a braid) live a life in Miami—both literally and figuratively. A Mexican American multimedia artist, Gomez-Ortigoza’s perceptive and worldly eye shapes her artistic pursuits, including her ongoing series Journey of a Braid, a project with rituals exploring hair as a social construct. A California native, Jain is the co-founder of the Vagabond Group, one of the city’s leading property developers, where her main focus is on restoring Miami Modern (MiMO) properties (from old motels to office buildings) along the Biscayne Corridor.

Not surprisingly, when the couple began looking for a new residence, they started with the waterside high-rises alongside Biscayne Boulevard and eventually landed at Palm Bay Towers, just north of the Miami Design District.

“The building spoke to me deeply,” says Jain. “It’s suspended with a lightness and daring that could only have been imagined in that golden era of design. You don’t just overlook the water here; you live within it, as if the ocean itself holds you.”

When advertising executive Manny Machado downsized from a much-larger apartment to his current residence, he worried there wouldn’t be enough wall space for his art collection, a sophisticated mix of artists in various stages of their careers from all around the world. But trusted friends and acquaintances who have seen both setups insist that’s not the case. At his new condo (by no means a small space at 2,600 square feet), the textured paintings he’s culled over the years seem more “at home” and less “gallery-like” than before when they had, perhaps, too much room to breathe.
“They do feel more personal in this place for sure,” says Machado. “I certainly enjoy them more.”

In the latest Miami edition, read “Stories on Canvas” to discover more about Machado’s serving as a reflection of the trajectory of his life 🖼️

It’s inspiring to see how a local event that started out as a neighborhood activation has evolved into a global brand. Design Miami, which began in a humble tent in the Design District, is now a world-class showcase with editions in , Paris, Seoul, and Basel, Switzerland. At 21 years old, the original remains a steadfast favorite. Curated by futurist Glenn Adamson, this year’s collectible gathering (December 2 to 7) will take place across from the Miami Beach Convention Center as usual and welcome visitors with an installation by Katie Stout, the winner of the 2025 MDD Annual Design Commission. Inside the DM pavilion, the programming will follow the theme of “Make.Believe.”

“The topic is an opportunity to reflect on heritage and legacy,” says Adamson. “It’s intended to capture the design across the ages, celebrating the design visionaries of the past, present, and future.”

With its $130 million price tag and state-of-the-art exhibits, the new Mote Science Education Aquarium—Mote SEA (Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium) at Nathan Benderson Park in is the biggest thing to happen to Florida’s sector in years. Just as impressive is the 146,000-square-foot building’s . Conceived by TVS Design in Atlanta, Mote SEA’s dynamic structure was inspired by the venue’s efforts and stewardship of . TVS literature puts it in more poetic terms: “The building can be gesturally understood as a boat, charting the waters in search for new ideas. With windswept layers of metal panel, the form of the building moves at full speed, breaking down its form at the stern but solid and steady as it raises towards the sky at the bow.” By all accounts, Sarasota’s newest design marvel is officially here.
