TL;DR: The tolls are going up in Delaware's roads this Friday; proposed 2026 toll rates for the Delaware River Crossings between PA and New Jersey may come as a shock. The First Coast Expressway in Florida is now 18-miles longer, now that a new segment has extended the road farther into Clay County. An international crossing under construction between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, is on schedule to be completed this fall, officials with the Bridge Authority say, but what about the opening of the bridge? A back way out of a service plaza in New Jersey has been closed, and we take a first look at the families that may be displaced by the future planned route of the Fort Bend Parkway.

Tolls are likely to go up on Delaware River Crossings again; plus, the state of Delaware is raising tolls next week. SH 288 Express Lanes are getting cheaper in Texas, by about fifty percent in some cases! Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.

TL;DR: As tolls in Delaware are set to increase in less that two weeks, tolls from New Jersey into Pennsylvania, over the Delaware River, could be the next rates to impact commuters and travelers in the Greater Philadelphia area. The tolls are going down - way down - on SH 288 around Houston. The state of Texas made the announcement last week, stating the changes are likely to come by September 1. And we take a look at the Fort Bend Parkway in the Houston Metro area, and how its development has impacted residents, and how residents are impacting the design.

A slew of construction is about to impact drivers on toll roads across three states, and a fourth state - Florida - will be closing its turnpike completely overnight. Newly-built Ford pickups being driven across Louisville's toll bridges may be 'dodging' tolls, according to a local TV station. Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.

TL;DR: Several ramps at key interchanges in Massachusetts will be closing overnight this week, among them ramps connecting I-95 and I-495 to the turnpike. One of the Lordstown exits in Ohio is closing for two months, and three toll plazas in Indiana are getting upgrades that will force the closure of their respective exit ramps. Finally, on the construction side of things, Florida's Turnpike is closing overnight for one night this week; we'll tell you where. There will be no toll increase on the Dulles Greenway after Virginia's Supreme Court says 'no'. A key service plaza on the Turner Turnpike closes to speed up renovations; and expansion and extensions of the Dallas North Tollway are reshaping Frisco and points north of Dallas, itself. TL;DR: Virginia's Supreme Court has shot down an appeal to push through a toll increase on the Dulles Greenway; westbound traffic on the Turner Turnpike will have to do without a service plaza for a few months. The Dallas North Tollway's Frisco widening project is nearly complete, while the DNT extension north of U.S. 380 is just beginning to take shape. New Jersey is pushing forward on a controversial extension rehabilitation program, which includes replacing an old bridge. TL;DR: Beware the Ides of August! Friday the 15th is the date the Delaware Department of Transportation has set for the start of new toll rates in that state, the first increase in over 11 years. Meanwhile, carpool lanes are no longer enforced in Florida, but many of those old HOV lanes are being replaced with tolled express lanes, which are enforced. The remnants of the old Key Bridge in Baltimore are coming down, and it will take about nine months to complete; meanwhile, anticipation is growing around Detroit as construction cranes come down from the towers of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge. We will tour the bridge for you. Plus, we take a look at a pair of designs for a direct connection between I-95 and Florida's Turnpike just north of the South Florida Metro area.

The last toll increase for the start of July hit over the holiday weekend for commuters in the New Jersey and New York areas; meanwhile, Manhattan Congestion Tolling is touted as a major success after the first six months. Also, toll gantry construction hits a fresh pace on the PA Turnpike. Danny Pryor reports for Turnpikes.com.

TL;DR: A 22-percent toll hike just hit Tolls-By-Mail commuters who use the bridges or tunnels to get from New Jersey into New York City, and a new tolling tier has also been rolled out. New York's governor is touting the successes of Manhattan's congestion tolling, which has brought down traffic and pedestrian fatalities. Pennsylvania announced a series of new gantry 'monotube' installations happening in July, this as commissioners also voted to increase tolls in 2026 by about 4-percent. And, the Golden Gate Bridge IS open, not closed as some people thought had been reported. We'll tell you about that little snafu, as well.

TL;DR: Travel will be replete with holiday traffic this week and weekend as tens of millions of drivers hit the nation's roadways; AAA is forecasting over 61-million people on the roads. Delaware's governor has signed a bill that will raise tolls in that state for the first time in several years; meanwhile, drivers in several states are bracing for mid-summer toll increases, from California to Texas, Florida to New Jersey. Washington state's DOT has set tolls for the new SR 509 Expressway, a portion of which will open this fall.
