It’s Sunday December 14th and it’s Roast Chestnuts Day! And in 1932 born on this day in C**t Arkansas, Charlie Rich was a singer and musician. In the latter part of his life, Rich who acquired the nickname the Silver Fox and is best remembered for his 1973 hits, "Behind Closed Doors" and "The Most Beautiful Girl. Rich died in his sleep on July 25, 1995. Its National Monkey Day! And in 2011 Singer Billie Jo Spears died of cancer at 73. She reached the top-10 of the Country music charts five times between 1969 and 1977, her biggest hit being the 1975 "Blanket on the Ground." It’s National Biscuits and Gravy Day! And in 1957 Jerry Lee Lewis secretly marries his 13-year-old cousin Myra Brown in Hernando, Mississippi, though he is not yet divorced from his second wife.
