Julie Russell-Steuart is an artist, activist, and disability advocate who brings together creativity and civic engagement in powerful ways. She was awarded a 2022 grant from the Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts for her project Power of the Press IOWA, a workshop series that teaches people how to use traditional printmaking to advocate for the causes they care about. She’s also a former Chair of the Disability Caucus of the Iowa Democratic Party and a tireless advocate for digital accessibility. Hear her story on I Am Able IOWA, Saturday morning at nine o'clock.
