I was honored to sit with veteran and longtime resident Del Richmond to discuss the Westborough Veterans Advisory Board and the American Legion and to preview this year's Memorial Day celebration on Monday, May 27.

An exhausting day…just out of a 5.5 hr marathon Select Board meeting. I’m short on words (a rare occasion LOL). I know many of you are waiting for the results of today’s Town Election.

Thoughts and thanks tomorrow.

For now, a simple thank you and congratulations to our residents for rocking the vote and showing up to demonstrate that we value democracy and our freedom to let our votes be our voice! Well done Westborough.

Recently on the show...an update from our Town Manager, Kristi Williams, on the FY2025 budget and a conversation with Town Planner Jenny Gingras and Planning Board Chair Mark Silverberg about the Housing Choice Act and MBTA Communities, both of which impact Westborough as a commuter rail community. Our town is one of 177 communities in the Commonwealth required to comply with the legislation by creating multi-family zoning.

This matter will be presented and voted on at Town Meeting (Article 33). Town Meeting will occur at Westborough High School at 9am on Saturday, March 23.

In a recent episode of “The 01581 – Let’s Talk!” I invited the town’s new Economic Development Coordinator, Mark Zepf, to talk about the town’s upcoming annual Winter Stroll, Light Parade and the Winter Lights event. This event continues to be a community favorite and has grown year over year thanks to the collaboration of the Rotary Club of Westborough , Westborough Recreation , Westborough High School Interact Club and Choir, and of course Westborough TV, Inc.

I can't wait to help flip the switch and light up the downtown on Sunday, November 26th! All are welcome! Hope to see you there!

This week on The 01581-Let's Talk....

My guest this week is Christine Simpson, founder of Post 22, an innovative program in Westborough, MA for intellectually disabled adults. Post 22 offers "innovative education and training tailored to each individual's unique needs, encompassing their strengths and passions" through a community day program.

Massachusetts has a significant waitlist for adult community day programs, so when Post 22 opened its doors earlier this year it brought joy, hope, relief, and opportunity for its adults and their families. In a short period of time Post 22 has made its mark and outgrown its existing space! Christine shares exciting news about Post 22's new location in Westborough's Bay State Commons. This new location will offer in-house employment opportunities and expanded opportunities for education and socialization.
