Finally back in the area! Yahoo!
Hwy 40 from Oakley KS to Hwy 287 was clear, but snow and blowing snow had started towards Weskan, KS. Hwy 287 was mostly clear with some slushy patches from Hwy 40 to Hwy 96. HWY 96 clear with patches of slush all the way from 287 to Hwy 50. Hwy 50 from Pueblo to Copper Gulch was wet to mostly clear. Copper Gulch from 50 to 69 patchy up north to icy at the southern reaches. Hwy 69 icy and snow packed from Copper Gulch to Airport Road. Airport Road is snowy from Hwy 69 to Wykagel. Wykagel snowy from Airport Road to Choctaw. Choctaw snowy from Wykagel to Sangre Dr. Sangre Dr snowy from Choctaw to Spread Eagle Dr. Spread Eagle Dr is snowy in its entirety. That’s all the roads that I was on in Colorado area today. Be safe and go slow!

Good evening everyone! I came up Hardscrabble this Evening, and it wasn’t too bad. Town was okay, 69 north of town was decent, Copper Gulch was icy and snow packed in spots, North Oak Grove was icy and snow packed, Wild Bill was the same, 69 south of town was clear in spots and a skating rink on others, especially by Airport road, the only place that I slid. Airport road, Wykagel, Choctaw, Sangre Dr, and Spread Eagle are icy and snow packed. Go slow and save a life!

I keep reading about roads being awful in some places around town and in the county, I’m out of town again, have been since Thursday, I’ll update when I get home sometime today. In the meantime, feel free to comment on this post any roads that are horrible, 4 WD only, etc. Thank you for your contributions!

Heads up folks!

There are a number of areas around Custer County without power. The sheriff's office is running on backup generator. We are monitoring the situation and will set up an emergency warming shelter if needed.

Spread Eagle has not been plowed as of an hour ago, neither had Sangre Dr. Choctaw was plowed, Wykagel plowed, Airport Road was plowed. All plowed roads were icy and snow packed. Hwy 69 and 96 are plowed, icy with snow packed. 115? Between Wetmore and Florence is mostly clear to Florence from the 1/2 way mark. That’s all I have for now. Be safe!

Update from the Custer County Sheriff’s Department. Please stay home, nothing is worth what can happen in these conditions.

Road and Bridge stopped early since the snows are not accumulating quickly, they’ll be out at 4 am tomorrow. Until then, stay safe, drive slow, and watch out for the guys in the wee hours tomorrow.
