Rhode Island Interscholastic League: 2026 Fall Football Update
As the Rhode Island Interscholastic League gears up for the 2026 Fall Football season, some changes in team alignments are set to shake up the competitive landscape.
South Kingstown
After a strong performance in recent seasons, South Kingstown has made the leap to Division One
This move places them among the state's elite, ?
where they will face tougher competition but also new opportunities to showcase their talent.
Classical and Ponaganset:
Both teams have also seen a shift, moving up to Division Two.
This transition reflects their growth and potential, promising exciting matchups as they contend with other strong programs in this newly competitive division.
Lincoln and Mt. Pleasant:
In another move, Lincoln and Mt. Pleasant will be dropping down to Division Three. This change could provide both teams with a chance to regroup and rebuild, potentially leading to a more favorable season ahead. Lincoln held their own last season, but Mt Pleasant has had it rough. Jay Addison did all he could do to put a program together.
Championship Highlights
In another head scratcher Narragansett has clinched yet another Super Bowl title. And still remaining in Division Four.
As teams prepare for the challenges of their respective divisions, fans can expect an exciting season filled with intense rivalries and standout performances. The shift in alignments will undoubtedly create a dynamic atmosphere, with each team eager to prove themselves on the field.
