🏁 O’Reilly’s Championship Night — Regular Season Recap🏁
Well… we didn’t quite get the ending we were hoping for.
The weather gave us a few challenges, and unfortunately, we struggled to get the car where we needed it to be. What turned out to be a beautiful day for racing ended with a pretty tough night for us on the track.
We qualified 16th, finished P8 in our heat, and brought it home 13th in the feature.
Coming into the season, our goal was to finish inside the top 10 in points. We started the night sitting 13th. We came up just 57 points short, finishing 11th overall.
I'll be honest… I was pretty disappointed in myself afterward. When you set a goal, you want to accomplish it.
But sometimes you need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
One of the coolest moments of the night came when another team took the time to come over and say some incredibly kind things to us. That meant more than they probably realized.
It also gave me some time to reflect on just how far we've come since last season.
Last year, I was still learning what it meant to be a late model racer. This year, we've battled, struggled, improved, learned, made mistakes, fixed things, broke things, spent way too much money 😂, and kept showing up.
And that's when it hit me...
Racing is so much more than trophies and wins.
Don't get me wrong — those are pretty damn awesome. 🏆
But the trophies are only a small part of the story.
The real story is the community.
It's the family you build at the track and in the shop. It's the hours nobody sees. The blood, sweat and tears that go into these cars before anyone ever hears them fire. It's the track owners and workers who make it all possible. It's the businesses and people who support our local tracks. It's the fellow racers who will help you when you're in a bind.
It's the people who share the same crazy passion.
It's our sponsors and partners who believe in us and continue to support this dream.
It's the fans who cheer for us, follow along, and make this whole thing even more special.
And it's the friends and family who put up with the late nights, the long days, the money spent on race car parts, and everything that comes with chasing this crazy dream. ❤️
That's the part of racing that doesn't always show up in the results sheet.
We may not have reached the goal we set for ourselves this season, but I'm still incredibly blessed to be living out a dream I had for a long time.
And I'm not done yet. 👊
We have three Big 8 races still left this season, and we're going to put our heads down, keep working, and finish this thing strong. 🏁🔥
To everyone who has supported us this season — whether you wear a t-shirt, shared a post, came to the track, cheered from the stands, helped in the shop, turned a wrench, sponsored us, or simply followed along...
THANK YOU!
We truly couldn't do this without you.
The points may say 11th, but when I look at the people, the memories, the lessons, and how far we've come...
I feel pretty damn lucky. ❤️🏁
Now let's go finish this season the right way.
Three more Big 8 races. Let's make 'em count. 💪🔥
