Very delayed post, but I need to recognize two 4H girls that really shined at the Greater Fredrick Fair last month!

Congratulations to Emmersyn Hardin and Jessie Rolko. These girls worked hard this year and it paid off in a big way!

Emmersyn took Best of Breed with a blue silkie pullet from Starry acres, Best of Breed-Best Featherleg-and Reserve Champion of show for the youth with a Salmon Faverolles pullet from Starry Acres!

Ive had an out pouring of support and request, please know i appreciate all of you! Im going in order of messages recieved, and may not get to everyone today. I apologize❤️

The past month has taken a lot out of me with regards to the chickens. In addition to struggling with Lymes, my Chihuahua Chica had an emergency vet visit-and more recently my Amazon parrot Lucky. I’ve come to the realization that the outdoor flock gets almost 100% of my attention while my other critters need me. I struggle because my birds are what kept me going after mom passed, and continue to be my passion.

My mindset right now is to cut back to only a few pens in limited colors. I plan to have the following pens/birds/breeds available:

SQ= show quality(bird either has shown or could be shown now), few or no defects
BQ= breeder quality, no DQ’s
Pet Quality= great pet bird, not for breeding or showing

SILKIES
-SQ White Pair (pullet and cockerel)
-BQ Paint Pen (Paint Showgirl C**k bird, 3 paint pullets)
-BQ/SQ Gray pen (Gray Showgirl cockerel, 3 gray hens, 3 gray grow-outs.
-Pet Quality girls: splash, mauve frizzle, black satin
-BQ Lavender pen (Lavender C**k Bird, 2 lavender pullets, 1 black split hen, 1 black split pullet(shown) About 10 Lavender and black split chicks all BQ potential.
-BQ/SQ Splash Pen (Splash C**kerel, Blue hen, splash pullet, splash satin pullet, splash showgirl cockerel, blue cockerel. 3 birds shown)
Pet Quality boys: White satin, Blue with gold leakage, Solid blue, white

Hey everyone! I haven’t been able to post results from the Frederick Fair yet. I’ve been struggling with a bad case of Lymes and didn’t get up there today. I promise I’ll try to get pics and placings soon❤️

Had a wonderful time this past weekend at the Twin Tier Poultry Club show in Bath NY. Was able to visit with some of my chicken family, and meet new friends! The show really took care of us with food/drinks/raffles…..all weekend long.!Competition was fierce, 170ish silkies!😳 It was a District 1 Silkie meet, and the awards and welcome gifts for all silkie exhibitors were amazing! Thank you to Lynn and all the ASBC leadership that made this such a great event❤️
