Four years ago when we bought this property and cabin, our children were living in Kansas and New Mexico, all within 5 hours traveling distance. Since then our oldest daughter moved to North Carolina and is married. Our youngest wishes to move to the same area. Now our son and family has accepted a pastoral position at a church just 45 minutes from our daughter.
I woke up about a month ago and the only thing on my mind was I don’t want to be 25 hours from our kids, grandkids and future grandkids. On the way to grab the mail that morning, I asked my wife if she would give up our dream mountain home to be close to our family. She looked at me wide eyed and said yes. She would have never asked me to give up this dream that we both worked for over 40 years to achieve. I told her dreams can change. So we immediately started searching the web for properties. I made the 25 hour drive last week to view the home we have decided on and sign a contract.
I’m not sure what this will mean for this page but I will keep sharing Gods word and new trail cam footage as long as possible. The Smokys are beautiful but not sure they compare to the view out our back door in Southern Colorado. I’m a homebody and never lived more than 5 hours from our home town, this is a move that I never expected.
I’ll get everyone including our four legged family situated in NC but I will probably be here for the winter getting the cabin ready for the next owners.
