Why Small Businesses Matter in Westport!
** Local Business Champion: Christine Finch Oleynick Real Estate

Q: Why did you decide to go into real estate?
A: My transition into real estate was a natural evolution from my extensive background in advertising, marketing, and sales. I realized I could combine my passion for marketing and design with my love for helping people achieve their dreams of homeownership. Having lived in Fairfield County for most of my life, I'm deeply passionate about Connecticut and the unique amenities our area offers. I saw an opportunity to use my creative marketing expertise and local knowledge to truly differentiate how properties are presented and sold in our market.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most is the combination of creative marketing
challenges and the personal relationships I build with clients. Every property tells a story, and I get to use my marketing and innovative advertising strategies to tell that story in the most compelling way possible. There's incredible satisfaction in seeing my listings featured in publications like Architectural Digest, Town & Country, and the Wall Street Journal, but what truly drives me is that moment when I hand over keys to families and know I've helped them find their perfect home. The blend of creativity, strategy, and human connection makes every day exciting.

Q: How many local businesses do you use to support your business and can you name them?
A: I work with approximately 15-20 local businesses regularly and have a vast list of vendors and businesses I refer to my friends and clients. As someone who believes strongly in supporting our local community, I've built strategic partnerships with local mortgage brokers, home inspectors, contractors, photographers, stagers, and title companies throughout Fairfield County. I also collaborate with local media outlets like CT Cottages & Gardens and CT Post for marketing exposure. My former role as Director of one of Fairfield County's most recognized women's networking groups has helped me build these valuable local connections that directly benefit my clients.

Q: What sets you apart from other local realtors?
A: Several things differentiate me: First, my proven marketing expertise - I've published two books on home selling and marketing, and my listings regularly appear in major national publications. Second, my role as a local strategist for Suburban Jungle gives me unique insight into helping out-of-town buyers find the perfect neighborhood. Third, my 35+ years of deep local knowledge combined with my vast network throughout Fairfield County. Finally, my innovative approach to technology and social media marketing ensures maximum exposure for my listings. I'm not just selling homes - I'm creating comprehensive marketing campaigns that consistently deliver top dollar for my sellers while providing exceptional service for my buyers as well.

Thank you to Fairfield County Bank for supporting our Why Small Businesses Matter series!

Why Small Businesses Matter in Westport made possible by Fairfield County Bank! Local Business Champion: New Mom School Westport.
** New Mom School Westport is hosting its Grand Opening on Sunday, June 1, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at 25 Sylvan Road South, Suite U, Westport **
Meet Abby Dixon, owner and instructor at New Mom School in Westport.
Q: Why did you start your business?
A: By trade, I am a Licensed Maternal Mental Health Specialist, and I recognized the need for moms to have a community and access to specialists and resources in addition to therapy. Supporting moms and allowing them to connect and learn is our WHY.
Q: What is your best-selling product/service?
A: Our best-selling class is tied between our Newborn class, which serves moms and their babies aged 0-3 months, and our infant class, which serves moms and their babies aged 3-6 months!
Q: How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
A: One of my goals in bringing New Mom School to Westport was to use as many local and mom-owned businesses as possible in building and running the business. Our lactation partner, Milk Street Lactation Support Center is run by two local mothers and is based in Norwalk. My Social Media Manager is Stephanie Formisano of Form Creative Co., an expecting mom located in Blackrock. Squeeze Massage is our partner for our grand opening on June 1, and Purple Cow Cleaner run by a local Weston dad, makes sure our studio is cleaned and sanitized for our moms and babies! There are too many to list, but part of the joy of bringing New Mom School here is the collaboration with local businesses!
Q: Have you "reimagined" your small business?
A: I have augmented my small business! I imagine New Mom School Westport to be a community for new and young parents in Fairfield County. Saturday will host our free "Dads and Donuts" for dads to be able to connect and gain confidence with their little ones. We host many free support groups, and hope to become a social hub for moms by hosting game nights, craft nights, and lecture series as well!
