⚡️⛈️SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE⚡️⛈️
Timing of today's severe storms:

Today's severe threat is going to be strongest north and west of the i95 corridor (red area). Most of the day will be sun/clouds with temps near 90. Storms will start to pop up after 6pm, and at 7pm could start to reach severe strength. 8-10pm looks like the bulk of the severe event, with storms losing intensity as they get closer to the shore. Most of the severe threat will wind down after midnight.

Threats are: winds up to 70mph, small hail, vivid lightning and downpours. Not everyone will reach severe strength, but most should get at least some form of storm this evening.

⚡️🌩️SEVERE WEATHER SATURDAY⚡️🌩️
Line of strong severe storms tomorrow after 4pm.

Here is a rundown on tomorrow night's severe weather for the tristate area:

First image: Severe hazards. A level 2/5 (yellow) for most of the region with a level 1/5 (green) as well. The main concern will be winds of over 60mph. The likeliest area for this is in red area, with yellow being possible and brown being scattered. There is also a small hail threat (brown) for northern portions of the area

Second image: Timing of storms. Sun most of the day, but first storms should start around 5pm, with strongest storms between 6-11pm from west to east

Third Image: Wind gusts. There will be swaths of 60+ mph winds as a squall line will likely form and pull through the area. These will be downburst wind gust, which will be fast and intense

Fourth Image: Lightning. A big concern will be lightning, as the very unstable atmosphere will make for a lot of cloud to ground strikes

Fifth Image: Nerdy atmosphere look. This data supports severe wind gusts, with an "inverted V" showing up between the dew point and temperature spread, meaning very strong downburst winds. Additionally, wind profiles are very straight, and "DCAPE" levels (bottom left) are extreme (anything over 500 is high). We also have high "lapse rates," supporting the chance for small hail.

Not everyone will get severe storms, but likely most of the area will get rain, and a large area will have lightning. Details will be updated tomorrow.

Weekend forecast June 5-7
Summer weather! Here is each day's ratings and expectations:

Friday- 9/10☀️. Sunny skies, high temps in the low 90s (80s at coast), with a light breeze and a bit humid, but not unbearable. Humidity increases through the night

Saturday- 7/10☀️⛈️🥵. Sun most of the day and some storms in evening. The high temps will be in the mid 90s and very humid, and evening will bring some thunderstorms, a few severe. Updates may be necessary on timing, but thinking is after 7pm. Not a washout

Sunday- 8/10🌤️🌦️. Sticky morning, then times of clouds and sun, not as humid with high temps in mid 80s. There is a chance of a passing shower in the afternoon/evening, but not a washout

05/29/2026

Weekend Forecast - improvement for sure! Here are my thoughts/ratings for the NJ/NYC area:

Friday: ☀️9/10. Some clouds, but high temps will be in mid 70s with low humidity. Tonight, more clouds and maybe a passing shower

Saturday: 🌤️💨7/10. While it'll be dry and mostly sunny, it'll be cool and windy. High temps will be in the low/mid 60s, with winds gusting to 40-45 mph to start the day, and should taper off by evening. It'll feel a bit chilly for the end of May

Sunday: ☀️9/10. No complaints- Sunny, high temps in the upper 70s, but possibly a bit cooler at the shore (mid 60s), and a little breezy in the evening.

Best day? Sunday for sure!
