For the past 12 months, our team at Charter & Co has been quietly developing our next endeavor, supporting our mission to help brands create without limits, using cutting-edge filmmaking technology.

Today, we’re excited to officially announce our partner company, Forge Virtual Studios—launching this fall.

Forge is a 30,000 sq ft virtual production studio based in Hanover Park, IL. Featuring a robust Studio A with an 82’ x 16’ LED wall, a versatile Studio B with a 25’ x 13’ LED wall, expansive high-end support spaces, and functional filmmaking amenities, Forge Virtual Studios will be the Midwest’s largest and most advanced virtual production facility to-date.

We’re excited to be creating a space for production companies and agencies to bring their boldest ideas to life—on time and on-budget. And for brands who want to use the studio but are in need of a production partner, Charter & Co will be there to offer full-service support.

At Charter & Co, we believe motion design is one of the best solutions to help viewers retain and understand your message!

We frequently use the strategy in our work with Magenium Solutions. The script and voiceover "says it" and the footage and motion design "show it."

It's a powerful combo for highlighting value props, underscoring important details, and bringing visual excitement to your video content!

Here's a quick glimpse into our recent work with the Illinois Medical District!

All the toys came out for this shoot—which was necessary with 10 location changes and setups in a 10 hour day!

The DJI Ronin 2 and Inspire 3 stole the spotlight for the day, allowing us to capture stunning Chicago aerials and ground shots while still remaining mobile.

And a special thanks to Vertiport Chicago for taking us for a quick lap in their helicopter around the IMD for additional coverage!

🎯 It's... Strategic Alignment!

To put it simply, it's the why, how, what framework that allows your go-to-market strategy to serve as the guide post throughout your video project.

For example, when our team at Charter & Co starts a project with a tech company, we start the conversation by digging into:

👉 The nitty gritty details of the customer persona the video is being made for—what resonates with them and where do they consume content?
👉 The channels and tactics that are currently performing best—are we trying to amplify these channels, or stimulate growth on an underperforming channel?
👉 Attribution and revenue models for the product being marketed—what is the impact of generating a sales conversation from a video touchpoint, and if that conversation converts, what is the average lifetime value of those customers?

If you, your team, or your video agency aren't asking these questions, it's time to consider adding Strategic Alignment to the beginning of every video project.

Check out Magenium's latest marketing video, that our team helped bring to life!

A few neat things to point out on this project:

👉 We designed and tracked motion graphics into each scene that helped enhance the voice over track by calling out the specific features of each space. Adding motion to video content really adds an extra level of polish!

👉 Over the course of our previous work with Magenium, we've built a large library of footage that we were able to tap on this project. With the right camera, lighting and color, you'd never know that some of this footage was shot in November, and some in March. Having extra footage on tap from previous projects opens up time for us to capture unique new footage, and tell a bigger story than you could capture in just one day.

👉 The script for this video was written in a modular format, with each section having a defined beginning and end, including titles for each sequence. This made it really easy to export 9 smaller cuts of the video—perfect for social media use, email campaigns and product pages on a website. 1 production created 10 total videos!

The bottom line? Get intentional during the concept and pre-production phase of your video project.

There are hidden opportunities to level up your video and create additional value—you just have to search for them!
