🏈 What happens when you give girls the chance to try something completely new?

For some Tennessee athletes, their first flag football practice started with zero football experience—and a whole lot of learning.

But what happened next was pretty amazing. 💙

From White House High School’s regional semifinal victory to Merrol Hyde’s run to a state championship appearance, these athletes discovered more than how to throw, catch, and compete.

They discovered confidence, teamwork, resilience—and a side of themselves they didn’t even know was there.

One White House player put it perfectly:

💬 “I can do much more than I gave myself credit for.”

As girls flag football heads into its second official season in Tennessee, we’re taking a look at what this new sport is giving young athletes beyond the scoreboard.
