Not a lot of rest after the hospital discharge!

We got home from Calum's hospital stay Sunday and Monday morning the CLTS funded renovations for Calum to have a downstairs bedroom and ADA bathroom started!

This is something that has been in the works for a very long time. It took so many quotes and walk throughs and discussions with physical therapists and CP Clinic specialists to determine what would be needed for Calum, what solution options we could do in our house and what we could have funding help on.

What used to be our dining room is becoming Calum's bedroom and our downstairs bathroom is getting a roll in shower put in. I'm so excited!

The bedroom wallpaper removal is on me, so I am getting it completed as time allows but I can't wait to see how it all looks when it's done.

Calum's been such a happy little boy this week and is just being such a trooper with all the noise going on. I think he feels the energy and is excited for the changes. I love how the window film I put up looks. I think the colors will be something he loves.

It's hasn't been the best few days.

We're unsure what we're fighting. He seemed to be reacting positively to antibiotics but we're dealing with very high heart rates, fevers, hypothermia events, and just overall uncertainty on what will help.

Before Calum got sick last week, we had started what was supposed to be our two week mini intensive at home. We were able to complete two days out of the ten that we planned for but we're so thankful for every minute we got.

Calum continues to show just how much he can do and just how strong he is. We're so excited to continue the momentum and use some of the things we learned to help further his home therapy routines.

We truly enjoyed working with Therapy.

We've rescheduled for the next availability and hopefully Calum's going to be able to show off new tricks in videos soon!

Today's been a bit rough.
Calum's cold seemed to be getting better and I am hoping we can avoid a hospitalization but it's been a hard week with all of having a cold and he definitely needed oxygen to stay comfortable today.

Life update.....we got a puppy! It's been a few crazy weeks of adjusting but we're so happy to have a new addition to the family. We call her Rhu and it's short for Rhubarb.

She's a very good girl and is learning very quickly, but still needs some help with boundaries.

Calum watches an episode of one of his favorite shows that includes a face painting scene and he thinks it's absolutely hilarious. Cracks up at it and asks for us to replay it a few times.

So we decided that it was time to try something, but not the face. I do think he really liked it. The face painter was fabulous in helping us pick out what to do and being patient with Calum while I explained everything to him. He was showing it off all day!

I'm excited for his next opportunity to try something again.
