RV travel days hit different when the gray tank smells.

This week reminded us of something important.

Asking for help is hard.
Especially when you are used to figuring things out on your own.

Our generator had been running rough and fitful for a while.
Mike kept troubleshooting. Cleaning parts. Replacing what he could. Moving on to the next thing to try.

It held together just long enough for us to be in the right place.

When the batteries died and the clouds stayed, I finally posted asking for help in a local group. Within minutes, we had a generator loaned to us and an offer to come take a look. Then more people stopped by. Knowledge. Tools. Willing hands.

They fixed it.

We are thankful it didnā€™t fail when we were completely alone.
Thankful for community.
Thankful for people who show up.
Thankful that God sent help right when we needed it.

Sometimes the miracle isnā€™t instant.
Sometimes itā€™s people.

Boondocking isnā€™t always sunsets and silence.

Weā€™ve been without a generator for over a week.
The desert sun had been keeping our batteries charged, but today was our first full day of clouds with an already depleted system.

So we shut everything down.
Lights off. No extras.
Cooking by string lights while the kids made crafts with a lamp.

Mike has been working nonstop. Researching. Cleaning parts. Replacing what he can. Moving to the next thing to try.

This is the part of boondocking that doesnā€™t get shared much.
The waiting. The problem-solving. The uncertainty.

Still choosing to make memories anyway.
