🍦 Wichita parents, if you need an easy afternoon outing, Trader Joe’s is such a fun stop!

Let the kids push the mini carts, grab your favorite treats, then head outside to the shaded picnic tables for an ice cream break. ☀️🧺

If you’re dairy-free like we are, they have some amazing options! My favorites are:
🤍 Dairy-free coconut Whip topping
🍪 Vegan Hold the Dairy mini cones
🍦 Oat non-dairy ice cream sandwiches

And don’t skip the plants and flowers! 🌿🌸 Trader Joe’s always has the cutest plant selection and some of the prettiest (and most affordable) bouquets in Wichita.

It’s one of our favorite little family outings when we want something simple, fun, and delicious. ❤️

Did you know there’s a hidden play area inside SCHEELS? 👀

If you’ve ever walked through the store and wondered where the playground is, this video will show you exactly how to find it! 🙌

💦 Toddler parents, this one is worth checking out!

The splash pad at the Derby Public Library is one of the most low-key and toddler-friendly splash pads we’ve visited so far. Unlike some of the bigger splash pads that can be overwhelming for little kids, this one has gentle ground sprays, a soft turf area, and plenty of space for toddlers to explore at their own pace.

When we visited on a weekday evening, it wasn’t crowded at all, which made it even better for younger kids.

🚗 Just a short drive from Wichita, KS

⭐️ Toddler Mom Rating: 10/10 — we’ll definitely be back!

📍 Derby High Park (2801 E. James St.)

This might be one of the best playgrounds I’ve found for families with kids of different ages.

✔️ Shaded toddler area
✔️ Splash pad
✔️ Fully fenced playground
✔️ Activities for toddlers and bigger kids
✔️ Clean bathrooms

⚠️ Parent warning: The turf gets HOT on sunny days and that giant metal slide is FAST. Kids were flying out of it, so I kept my toddler away from that one.

🛝 Derby Park Pros & Cons 👇

After visiting with both my toddler and older kid, here's my honest review!

✅ Super padded turf that helps soften those inevitable tumbles

✅ Tons of climbing and hanging opportunities for adventurous kids

✅ The roller slide is a huge hit

✅ Splash pad right next to the playground

❌ Be prepared for wet clothes... and wet equipment

❌ Some of the play structures connect to higher levels, so I kept a close eye on my toddler

Overall? My kids are already asking when we can go back. 💚
