One thing many people don't realize is that when I'm DJing, I'm usually running the lighting system too. Especially at venues like XY, that means managing two computers at once while paying attention to the music, planning the next track, reading the crowd, and keeping the energy where it needs to be. ...and sometimes, I am even playing video or visuals.

When I first started DJing, learning how to run lights was part of the process. The lighting isn't random—it's designed to follow the music. From the buildup of a song to the breakdown and cool-down moments, the lights help tell the story and amplify the experience. It's a lot to manage at the same time, but when everything comes together, it creates a much more immersive atmosphere for the crowd.
