It's official, Hesston approved a $33.5 million bond issue.

Every vote mattered for the Hesston Bond issue, which passed by 11 votes. The Harvey County Canvassing Board (Randy Hague, Chip Westfall, Don Schroeder) certified the bond election and results at a November 6 meeting. At the meeting, the board made a determination on which of the 19 provisional bal

Only a few votes separate the issue from passing or failing, and there are at least 19 provisional ballots that won't be accepted or counted until Tuesday.

The Hesston Bond Vote won't be settled till next Tueday. With all the votes counted, 10 votes separate USD 460's $33.5 million bond issue from passing or failing. 790 ballots were cast in favor and 780 were cast against. According to County Clerk Rick Piepho, there are 19 provisional ballots re

For all those curious, we're expecting results on the Bond vote likely around 8, depending when the ballots get dropped of at the County Clerk's office. There were 154 early and 129 advanced ballots.
