Going through socials from yesterday and wow. Wichita was on fire. Everyone was out. You had Wichita Forever Festival taking over 10 venues (I’m getting ready for the VIP party today, right now). Jackstacks.Eats and DJ 4TheWin had a block party at Naftzger. You had the Crawl for Cancer taking over Old Town. The turnout for the Angel Bash at Twister City Harley-Davidson was huge.
I am bummed I had a private event (not really, because it was LIT), but so awesome to see Wichita out and about in so many spaces! Good job!!!

Super stoked for an action packed weekend. I’ve got a private party tonight. We have Twister City Harley-Davidson Harley Angel Mega Bash and a wedding tomorrow. And the Wichita Forever Festival VIP party on Sunday. I am AMPED!
So tonight is a super awesome theme and the soundtrack is going to match. Early 00s post punk revival with electropop and dance rock and a touch of bloghaus for an entire indie sleaze vibe.
This is a bag that I don’t get to get into often, but this is something I love. I casually started making a playlist based off of a few artist requests and I now have 14 hours of music tucked away.
So if someone told you that MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix, and The xx were the provided baseline for your playlist, what bangers are you adding? I want to make sure I’m not forgetting anything.

That real hip hop just hits different. Especially when you miss it so fondly. This “I Used To Love HER” thing is special. Because each of us DJs that are doing it remember when we first got those tracks on vinyl. Remember what actually worked in the spots. We experienced it. It’s not an algorithm generated Spotify playlist. It’s what we love. Real hip hop in Wichita. We do it once a month. If you are a hip hop head, be ready for the next one.

Just upgraded my home network, so moving this old one. Amplifi HD with additional mesh points. Had it connected with AT&T and Cox. Got much better home coverage than I did with their default system. Posted it on marketplace for $100. Goes for $200 new. Thought I would share here as well in case someone is looking.
