We are aware of a post circulating stating that ICE is near local Hutch schools. That information was later updated to reference South Hutchinson schools.

Our Rapid Response Teams have been out and have not observed any ICE activity near schools or in the areas mentioned. The post shared a picture in the comments from a former incident not in Kansas.

***update: these reports are inaccurate. There have not been passengers arrested by ICE agents at the airport in Wichita.

Apps and websites like the Stop ICE Alerts site/app are rarely accurate or screening for confirmation beyond what a random reporter submits.

If you think you see ICE activity -or want more information about upcoming trainings, etc - please message us directly or text us with as much information as possible.

We did have trained responders head out to check out the situation but nothing was visibly identifiable as ICE activity.

WICHITA - we have an important City Council meeting to attend tomorrow evening (Tuesday, 3/10)- showing support for our trans community for the proclamation of Transgender Day of Visibility and hearing along with the regular council meeting.

Also - Leavenworth City Commission is scheduled to vote on the CoreCivic Special Use Permit during their meeting on March 10 at 6PM

If the permit is approved the ICE Detention Center will open immediately.

We need to keep this facility closed! Please join our campaign!

Leavenworth - On Tuesday March 10 the City Commission will vote on CoreCivic's permit to open an ICE detention center. Show up at 5pm for a rally outside city hall and to sign up for public comment! Contact commissioners and urge them to VOTE NO and to allow all voices a chance to be heard! (You do not have to be a Leavenworth resident to speak out--this affects everyone.)

We have confirmed this incident was not an ICE raid. It was a SWAT operation executing a criminal warrant.
