Update: She is out of surgery! It went well. Biopsy results in 5-10 days!

Chichi is having a mastectomy today. They found a lump during her annual exam, but we haven’t had a biopsy yet. Please send good thoughts, as this is stressful for all of us.

ChiChi was a community cat who was pregnant when we rescued her. Every litter increases the odds for mammary cancer, so please spay your cats before their first heat.

This was an interesting morning. Chichi was scheduled for a mastectomy early this morning. She had to fast, which meant we all had to fast. We all woke up hungry and screaming. Dad got up super early to take her to the hospital, but her surgeon was sick today. Now we are waiting to hear from the scheduler to find out when they will make us all fast again.

** Update: her surgery will be tomorrow (Tuesday the 9th of September).
