🐦‍⬛🖤 RAGE & RAVEN — IDAHO DARK HISTORY

COMING SOON
Rage & Raven is heading inside the former Idanha Hotel.

A few current tenants have reached out about some things they’ve been experiencing, so naturally… we’re going in.

We’ll be talking with residents, swapping stories, hearing what’s been happening firsthand and seeing where the night takes us.

Elevators, hallways, shadows, stairs, old stories, new experiences… who knows what the hell we’re walking into

Who knows where the night is going to take us.

Right in downtown Boise, at 10th and Main, stands the former Idanha Hotel.

It opened on January 1, 1901 and was once considered one of Idaho’s grandest hotels. It had private telephones, an electric intercom, and an Otis elevator, serious luxury for Boise at the time.

The building is no longer a hotel and was later converted into apartments, but the stories tied to the old Idanha never really went away.

One of the building’s longest-running legends claims a bellman was shot and killed on the sixth floor near the elevator. Over the years, people have reported seeing what they believe to be his apparition moving through the building — almost as if he never stopped doing his job.

There have also been reports of icy blasts of air, crying from empty rooms, scratching and dragging sounds, shadow figures, unexplained elevator movement, and the unsettling feeling of being watched or followed.

Here’s the important part:
- We can confirm the Idanha’s history.
- We can confirm that these paranormal stories have been told for years.

But we cannot currently confirm from a solid historical record that the bellman’s murder actually happened and sometimes that makes an old haunting even more interesting.

When the story survives longer than the evidence…
what exactly are people still experiencing?

Ever walk into a room and suddenly feel like you’re being watched… before you even know the history of the place?

Paranormal investigators sometimes call this a “location response” when your body reacts before your brain has anything to work with. Goosebumps, pressure in your ears, sudden nausea, a heavy chest, or the overwhelming urge to get the hell out.

Could it be environmental? Absolutely.
Electromagnetic fields, infrasound, mold, temperature shifts etc all can screw with your senses.

But when multiple people independently react to the exact same spot, without knowing anything about it?

Yeah… that’s when Rage & Raven starts asking questions.

Rule #1: Rule out the normal.
Rule #2: Never ignore your instincts.
Rule #3: If the raven says leave… MOVE YOUR ASS. 🐦‍⬛🖤

There’s a paranormal theory known as the “stone tape” theory, the idea that traumatic or highly emotional events can somehow imprint themselves onto a building, object, or piece of land.

In those cases, what people think is a ghost may not actually be an intelligent spirit at all.

It could be a residual haunting the same footsteps, scream, shadow, or figure repeating over and over like a recording.

No interaction.
No awareness.
Just the same moment… trapped on repeat.

Which raises one hell of a creepy question:

If a place can remember what happened there… how much has your home already seen?

In old Norse belief, certain places were thought to hold onto the presence of those who came before, especially burial grounds, abandoned homesteads, crossroads, and land tied to violence or strong emotion.

Some spirits weren’t believed to simply “move on.” They could remain attached to the land itself, becoming part guardian, part warning… and sometimes something far less welcoming.

Maybe that strange feeling you get in an old place isn’t your imagination.

Maybe the land remembers.

There’s a strange phenomenon sometimes called the “Oz Factor.”

People experiencing something unexplained have reported that everything around them suddenly becomes unnaturally still, birds stop singing, insects go quiet, wind seems to disappear, and the entire area feels almost… suspended.

Then something strange happens.

Researchers have tried to explain it through heightened awareness, fear responses, environmental changes, or simply our brains noticing silence more intensely when we’re uneasy.

But anyone who spends enough time investigating the unexplained knows one thing:

When the woods suddenly go completely silent, you pay attention.

Sometimes the absence of sound is the loudest warning you’ll get.

Ever wake up suddenly around 3:00–4:00 AM feeling like someone is standing in the room?

For centuries, folklore has called those hours part of the “witching hour” a time when the veil between our world and whatever may be on the other side is believed to be at its thinnest.

Science can explain some experiences as disrupted sleep, dreams, or sleep paralysis.

But here’s the creepy part…

During paranormal investigations, unexplained voices, footsteps, shadows, and sudden environmental changes are often reported during the deadest hours of the night, when the building is quiet and everyone else is asleep.

So if you wake up at 3:17 AM tonight and your bedroom door is suddenly open…

Maybe just blame the dog or cat.

Even if you don’t have pets...

There’s a phenomenon called the “third man factor” where people in extreme danger or isolation report feeling the very real presence of someone beside them, even when no one is actually there.

Explorers, climbers, soldiers, and disaster survivors have described an unseen companion guiding, comforting, or warning them.

Science has theories.

Paranormal investigators have other questions.

Guardian? Stress response? Spirit?

That’s the fun part, sometimes the unexplained sits right in the middle.

Did you know.....Ravens can remember a human face for years and they can also remember whether that person treated them well… or pi**ed them off.

Even better? They’ve been observed warning other ravens about people they consider a threat.

In Norse mythology, Odin was accompanied by two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, often translated as Thought and Memory. Each day they flew across the world, returning to Odin with what they had seen and heard.

For centuries, ravens have also been tied to omens, spirits, battlefields, death, wisdom, and the space between the living and whatever may be watching from the other side.

Coincidence? Maybe.

But if a raven is staring at you like it knows something…

We’re not saying panic.

We’re just saying maybe be polite. 😂🐦‍⬛🖤
