Have you started fresh with a new weight loss goal as a New Year’s resolution?

Are you monitoring your weight loss journey by stepping on the scale daily or weekly?

Are you feeling frustrated by the lack of progress on the scale or maybe even seeing an increase?

Let me be the first to reassure you, there’s more to success than just the number on the scale. I’m here to guide you through the celebration of non-scale victories.

As a personal trainer my job is of course to help clients lose weight. That job can be a frustrating one when clients only see the scale as a level of progress.

Women especially are told to weigh less. Less equals healthier, skinnier etc.

That number you see on the scale is the total you, the water, the muscle, the fat, the inflammation etc.

Say you start a Strength training program which is meant to build muscle. You step on the scale after two weeks and the scale doesn’t move first though is no progress. And I get it cuz I’ve been there.

What we don’t realize is, maybe we lost body fat and increased muscle causing our actually weight to stay the same. You’ve actually improved your metabolism!
I could go on and on!
Here’s a few more strategies to focus on when looking to improve your health….

-Track your sleep
-Pay attention to how your energy levels feel
-are your clothes fitting better?
-do you feel strong? More flexibility
-join pain reduced
-blood pressure improved
-confidence is taking off!
-having less stress and anxiety
- willing to try new activities.

Once you take the weight concept out, it becomes fun, it becomes a lifestyle change!

Hello to my new followers, this is a new page for my personal training business.

Most importantly it’s a page from my point of view/perspective of what my own fitness journey has been.

I will be sharing what I’ve learned for myself as a 50 year old woman. What I’ve learned over the past 8 years training many different lifestyles of clients.

The biggest takeaway I hope is that you learn what health is, why it’s important, there can be balance and every small step leads to bigger things!

Yellow veggies:
High in antioxidants,immune system support, help fight infections
Heart heath, digestion, energy and mood!

Green veggies:
Support strong bones, packed with calcium, magnesium, digestion, eye health!

Tonight’s easy recipe:

Ground beef with broccoli. This was a quick simple dish using grassfed beef and colorful veggies. Tonight I used white rice, brown or quinoa is perfect too!
Swap out for turkey if needing to eat a bit leaner.
Macros : 488 calories including rice
32 grams protein
65 grams carbohydrates
11 grams of fat.
