If you haven’t pulled up a stool at in Willimantic, you’re sleeping on one of the coziest pubs around—equal parts Irish comfort and foodie flair.

Nestled at 69 Church Street and run by chef‑owner Matt Hardisty (who even farms his own produce nearby!), this spot offers a limited-but-loved menu: think Guinness stew, fish & chips (my favorite - the tartar sauce is unreal), Reubens, burgers, along with rotating chef’s specials that highlight local meats and veggies.

Don’t sleep on the hanger steak (when they have it - it sells out quick) or their creamy clam chowder—each dish feels like a warm, welcoming hug.

The bar’s a delight, too—dozens of beers on tap, plus cocktails and that trusty pint of Guinness for when you need liquid courage.

With a sunny patio open during nice weather, an intimate interior lined with Irish charm, and friendly staff who make every visit feel like a visit with pals, it’s got that “local pub you brag about to out‑of‑towners” energy.
