La Collina has been a destination for fine Italian cuisine for 39 years in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

Known for its Dover sole, veal dishes, sirloin, porterhouse, ossobuco, and chops, they also have quite an extensive drink selection. The restaurant features 37 gin-and-tonic recipes and instructs diners to ask the sommelier about its “private” wine collection.

Nikki Palladino recently dined there. Read about her experience here.

Happy Feast of San Gennaro!

Saint Januarius was a martyr, the Bishop of Benevento, and is the patron saint of Naples, Italy and blood banks.

A famous "blood miracle" occurs where his blood, kept in a vial, liquefies on his feast day, as well as on other specific days.

He’s invoked against volcanic eruptions.

All four of Nick Cappelli Jr.’s grandparents are immigrants. Facing hardships, they all persevered, which allowed Nick’s father and Uncle John to achieve success in the family business, Suburban Food Service, now 77 years young.

Nick and his brother Michael continue the legacy and also have a catering division, called ‘Pronto,’ and the ‘Fruit of the Vine’ division which sells and distributes grapes and grape juice for those who make wine at home.

Read about their family heritage, traditions, and the business here.
