We are back down in beautiful Carolina Beach this morning where an entire complex is suffering from gag worthy smells and tastes in their water and we are trying to diagnose where it's coming from (on the source water, hot water tanks, in the plumbing, or otherwise)

We have sent our Advanced Chemical Analysis off to the lab already and this morning we are testing for the presence of bacteria.

The entire complexity of this mystery water is diagnosing if the issues are stemming from a lack of disinfectant getting to the complex - you want chlorine/chloramine during transport but then dramatically reduced once you manually remove it before it hits your body and starts wearing down your appliances

We had 0.00 this morning at this pool hose bib which was picked to be a neutral testing spot away from the variables of plumbing inside each home.

Tests are incubating and will report in both once labs come back!

The amount of free resources that can tell you a pretty accurate representation of what is coming into your house for

Toxicity
Sediment
Minerals

Is pretty great, at least in the US.

I use these every day to help people and families find the water systems that fit their needs, tastes, house, and plumbing.

Can't you just buy the cheapest thing from AZN or a hardware store? Of course.

Then I hear about the frustrations 6 months later on my free calls 😂.

Not all of them obviously. Anything is better than nothing.

If you want to get it right the first time, or if you are curious about a technology or which brands are best for your application, it's no different than picking a car.

The main water types broken down by practical use based on stress testing more systems than 1 person probably should.

FYI: Individual brands and ex*****on matter more than the technology. Cheap versions of any of these will suck.

➡️ Distilled: Great for removing solids and most chemicals (with a proper carbon post filter). Very energy intensive. Considered the closest to "just water". Does not produce a lot of water - not super family friendly.

Good for detoxes where you want to pull and good to drink if your nutrition is on point (soils are depleted by at best 30% mineral content)

➡️ Reverse Osmosis: great for removing minerals and most chemicals around 75-95% and offers more water output than distilled but wastes somewhere between 1/2 to 75% of the water as it passes through. Technically a separator, not a filter.

➡️ Electrokinetic/Advanced Carbon systems: Offers Reverse Osmosis filtration rates for most toxins (exceptions are nitrates and radiologicals) while maintaining electrolytes and other trace minerals (the same ones people try to add back in after RO or distilled). No waste water, more compact systems (no storage tank), fast flow
