Although Hurricane Erin will remain well offshore, significant surf and marine impacts will occur as wave heights grow through today and peak tonight into early Thursday morning. Minor tidal flooding will allow for high waves to run-up and often reach the dunes at many beaches, with some overwash possible at breaks in the dunes and erosion expected. Strong rip currents, unusually high waves, and a moderate to strong north-to-south longshore current will make for life-threatening surf conditions.
