First off… can we please give a round of applause to my amazing nurse for taking my photo? 👏🏼 She’s pretty much a badass in all things, and Ty was STRUGGLING with the angles. 🤣 Now onto the weekly check-in… Round 2 Week 1 Chemo day. Let’s be real: I’m tired. Like bone-deep, could-sleep-for-approximately-47-business-days tired. 😴 But my body is fighting one hell of a fight right now, and my job is to listen to it, fuel it, rest it, and give it the grace to do what it needs to do. The BIG win this week: I didn’t have a reaction to the new chemo! 🙌🏼 And around here, we celebrate EVERY. SINGLE. WIN. Going forward, I’ll be getting 2.5 liters of fluids with every round of chemo, along with a whole cocktail of other goodies to help with nausea and keep my kidneys from throwing a temper tantrum. Apparently, no one warns you what 2.5 liters of fluid at once does to your body. 🫣🤣 I left looking a little like someone hit the “inflate” button, but hey… hydrated queen. 💅🏼😂 The nausea from this new chemo should make its grand entrance around Sunday/Monday. As always, we hope for the best and prepare for the worst. We’re hoping it stays minimal, but I have an incredible medical team that has us stocked and ready with meds if it decides to show up acting disrespectful.🙄 But overall? I feel GOOD. ❤️ Am I tired? Absolutely. Is my body working overtime? Yep. Am I slowing down when it tells me to? I’m learning. 😂🫣 Am I still showing up, smiling, laughing, loving my people and kicking cancer’s ass? You freaking bet I am.👏💪 This season is teaching me that strength doesn’t always look like pushing harder. Sometimes strength looks like resting. Sometimes it looks like accepting help. 🥹 Sometimes it looks like celebrating something as simple as making it through another treatment.💪 And sometimes it looks like being swollen, exhausted, pumped full of fluids and chemo…and still finding something to laugh about. 🤣❤️ Still here. Still grateful. Still fighting. Still me. One treatment, one win, one day at a time. I love y’all SO big. Go get your smears and smashes!
