With Veteran's Day just around the corner, we want to showcase a project here at WCTV that has been in the works for almost a year. Wilmington's own Bob Hamel worked with the PGA Hope New England Section to showcase the personal stories of how golf is helping several service veterans cope with PTSD or TBI. The documentary focuses on the friendships and the joy found in chasing that little white ball around a beautiful landscape. It is a story of hope, of personal strength and the courage and resolve to find internal peace with oneself through interaction with others who struggle with similar issues. We will be premiering this project this Friday, Veteran's Day, to honor those who have served our country.
Talk about an absolutely incredible ending: The Wilmington Wildcats field hockey team pulled off a 3-1 win in a shootout of their first round playoff game last night after fighting through regulation and two overtime periods of a scoreless game.

We at WCTV are heartbroken to announce that Marty McCue has sadly passed away. Marty joined WCTV in August of 2018 and lit up the office with his presence and sense of humor. Marty was always willing to give a helping hand whether it was studio and field productions, editing, or honestly anything you needed. Marty was the Youth Director from August 2018 until February 2022 and he loved working with the kids just as much as they loved working with him. He will be dearly missed by everyone he met, not just here in the town of Wilmington, but those he met throughout his life. We are sending all our love and support to Marty's family and friends. If you would like to make a donation in Marty’s name to St. Jude’s Foundation, an organization he passionately supported, you can donate at: https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html Rest in peace, Marty. Thank you for everything ❤️
